  • Top Tourist Destinations in 2017 will surprise you

Euromonitor’s Top 100 City Destinations survey reveals the most popular urban vacation spots worldwide. The winner is a perennial favorite in Asia.

Didn't know Thailand was so popular. Surprising how Phuket got 14% growth and there's nothing to see or do on a one-street party town. Pattaya got only 4.2% growth, and I like that it's small. Go any higher and things start to get more expensive. Very curious whether they will build a giant hotel-casino in that empty property right next to Talay Condos which is right next to the Hilton Hotel/Central Festival complex. Gives me some incentive to visit HK and Singapore. Funny Viet Nam is not in there. Very curious what Danang, Mekong Delta, Saigon, and Ho Chi Minh City has in the way of seafood, ramen, and entertainment.

I hope that vacant lot is still beside the View Talay 6, I'll be staying there soon.
There was some development started there but not sure if it went forward.
There was a halt on many projects in Pattaya around the time of the last government switch at city hall.
That was one of my favourite things about View Talay if you stay on that side there is nothing in your way.
Great ocean views and very private balconies.

Hmmm. There seems to be a short cut from The Pattaya Night Market straight through to Beach Road. Gotta find the crack in the wall.

If you stay at the View Talay 6 you get a free shortcut from Beach Road to 2nd road anyway.
That shortcut you see is a dog path, that field is full of stray dogs.
Just go on the other side of Central Festival you can cut down to the beach.

Just stayed in a great condo on the 16th floor on the field (walking street) side of the View Talay 6.
7000 baht for 4 nights, had to put deposit of 1800 in advance by pay pal.
Includes huge balcony and television, washer and full kitchen.
Huge pool, many laundry places, stores, massage and more all in the building.
The worst thing about the condo is the lack of elevators, 27 floors, 60 units per floor and 3 elevators.

Stray dogs? Strong possibility they are wild and hungry. Two and four legged kinds. Mo beddah just walk on Soi 10 behind the Hilton/Central Festival complex. I'll check out that loading area in the basement. Trouble is I travel alone and don't want to leave my luggage in the basement and walk up to the second floor to get the keys. Also I arrive past midnight. Maybe better to stay in my hotel, get my keys, and move my luggage via taxi if I can find an ungreedy one.

Just get your driver to help you get the bags up the stairs in the front then you are ok.
I don't think you can get into the parkade late and night and you still have to take your bags up some stairs no matter what.

I arrived at 3am on Friday to the View Talay 6.
Honey left my keys with the security and everything worked out great.

Only one thing good about arriving that late in the AM. No traffic on the freeway. Just lean you front seat all the way back and sleep.
