  • Prostitutes in Miss TIFFANYS - before and/or After

    Guys and Dolls

I have heard, after the Miss Tiffany's 2007 Competition was over, that many of the girls who presented for the competition of Miss Tiffanys 2007 are GOGO girls (the 3rd runner up for example I have heard she works in Casanova , etc, etc). (the truth is I do not know if this is true, someone may need to check for us).

Many of them, the most known ones (from Kings Corner and kings Castle) were actually not chosen during the Preliminary Election that took place on Monday the 7th of May 2007. But many other not that famous managed to be selected and take place in the competition.

The QUESTION now is: Should Tiffanys allow GOGO girls to take place in the competition?

Tiffanys and Alcazar girls is seen and have historically been seen by Thai society as the "cream of the cream" of this world. Tiffany's & Alcazzar's queens are supposedly represent the "BEST" of the LB world. They represent the best of their specie.

Furthermore the LBs who are chosen as miss tiffanys are responsible to represent their "group" and bring "CHANGES" such as public acceptance by the society and legislative recognition by Thailand itself. Thus I think they should be "Clean" and "Descent" seen from every aspect of their lives, i.e. not to have worked previously as gogo girls.

I would like to hear your opinion on this subject both from us the farangs (who do not really represent a pressure group) and the LBs who are members of this forum. Could someone also check if the gossip about the 3rd runner up is correct? I would appreciate it...

Known prostitutes or ladyboys with a history of prostitution shouldn't be a part if this competition.

It diminishes the integrity of the pageant and the Tiffany name.

Ladyboys won't get social acceptance or political respectability any faster by hiring hookers as their atypical spokespersons.

As the competition isn't purely based on physical appearances then there should be discretion as to who makes the entry cut.

I can verify that girls that work at Tiffany's will meet for a shag after work...not that tough.

This is a very thought provoking topic.

It would be nice to believe there are a large number of world class Ladyboys living a normal fulfilling life outside of the sex industry.

Well, there are, so believe it.

Only a miniscule percentage of transsexuals in Thailand make money fucking tourists.

            Thats a bit unfair.

Saying you can't do something because you're a hooker means that you are basically saying they are second class citizens.

Maybe it doesnt reflect well on Thailand, but there are plenty of bent politicians who aren't great examples to their countries either.
seriously pig headed, arrogant, double standard smart ass poster!

Would you characterise hookers as first class citizens?

You see - this is a classic example of the difference of opinion of someone who lives here and meets people who have 'normal' lives and 'normal' families and someone who only gets to meet the Thais that work in bars, hotels and restaurants, etc...

If you asked any of the hundreds of corporate students that I have taught over the years then they would most definately say that bargirls (for want of a better word) are indeed second class citizens. In the same way that sex workers are looked down on in every single country in the world.

Now - don't get me wrong... there are some jolly nice P4P workers out there and even a couple who I like to hang out with... but let's face it - come question and answer time during the Miss Tiffany pageant they can't all sincerly want "world peace" more than 4,000 Baht for a quickie in a flea-pit short time room, can they?

I€™m sure every contestant in the Miss Tiffany pageant would be found to have some kind of a €œskeletons in the closet€ by American standards€¦
I mean look what they did to Vanessa Williams the first ever black Miss America. They not only dethroned her when the nude lesbian photos came out€¦ they launched her into the stratosphere making her one of the biggest fucking stars of all time!

That doesn't look like a comfortable (or safe) way to have sex!

Well, it's one thing to have 'skeletons in your closet.' But wearing your profession as a hooker as a badge of honor diminishes anyones self respect I would think.

But contrary to that; there are some ex-hookers who have gone on to be quite famous and/or important... Isn't there one in the Italian government?

I don't think that conservative Thailand is ready for any liberal affronts to it's overblown and hypocritical sense of public morality.

It does not matter to me what their profession is before or after the competition. It is a beauty contest and that should be the single, pure measurement.

There are bargirl precedents already. Pay from Obsession made top 10 recently. One of the Miss Tiffany from the last decade became a high class prostitute in Europe after winning. It's the western mind set like Miss America that requires a "talent" to be judged, a college she attends to throw around, can't have naughty pictures for life, must meet a year of commitments to keep it, and probably a million other things. Not my idea of a beauty contest.

From rumours I have heard it's quite common for university students to 'make ends meet' by filling in a few nights a week in a gogo bar.
Admittedly I'm not sure they would want it to get around too much later in their lives.

Also sex for some sort of favour or renumeration has been practiced in Thailand certainly back to the start of the present royal dynasty.
Under Thai law this counts as prostitution.

Unbelievable how you move from extreme left to extreme right. I hate foreigners and religion, but oh god, don't let a hooker in a Ladyboy pageant. I'm sorry, it's an unfair blow, but you have to admit the irony of it.

Why shouldn't a hooker be allowed to win in this competition? What does hooking have to do with it?

I sponsored 2 girls, both 'hookers'. They have a lot more character than most people I know.

That doesn't mean to imply all hookers are good people, but likewise, there are a lot of non-hookers who pretty awful people. The character of the person is what counts. And as we all know, I'm not sure how much character is judged in the competition or important after the competition.

Interesting question you have raised Diablo80! Well, a bit of history may help us see things.

In the early days Miss Tiffany was a local contest without a lot of publicity, but great interest in the lb world as beauty contests are something they love to watch or participate in. Screening of contestants was not very strict in those days, so "go-go" girls often made it into the contest, and some of them won. Miss Tiffany 1998 is an example, and she is now in the USA working as a high class escort.

As time went on, the contest established some international connections - in 1999 they sent the winner to compete in the Miss Queen of the Universe contest in LA, 2000 and 2002 winners were also sent. In all 3 cases Miss Tiffany won the Miss Queen of the Universe title. As you can imagine they did not want to send a "go-go" girl as their representative, so the screening became stricter. They wanted proof of enrollment if the contestants stated they were students, and also proof of employment for whatever jobs they wrote in their applications.

In 2001 no one was sent since 9/11 disrupted the plans, and 2003 was a hiatus before Tiffany launched Miss International Queen contest in 2004.

As mentioned by Road Runner, some lb students moonlight on weekends and holidays in the bars to earn extra money. However, it would not be their full time work. The screening process wouldn't pick these contestants up, since they still have official documentation proving their student status.

Miss Alcazar has not been as strict as Miss Tiffany, but as the competition between the two organizations grow, I imagine they will become stricter as well.

Personally, I don't think it should matter if an lb is working as a gogo dancer or not, but I certainly understand the viewpoint of the contest organizers. I also understand SB's point that if these contests are for promoting the understanding and acceptance of trangender in Thailand - then having a go go dancer as a winner may not help achieve that goal.

As for the 2nd runner up working in Casonova Bar she is 183 cm or 6 feet tall - so she fits the amazon profile! However, it is just a rumor and no proof so far.

Still a bunch of lovely ladies in the contests! Certainly more beautiful than the ladies I see where I work!

Apparently there is no Miss Alcazar next year. It is cancelled. This year they only had 28 girls show to compete for 30 positions.
