  • Angry or emotional Ladyboy

Has anyone ever encountered someone like that? Have you ever found yourself in a situation where your LB gets jealous and throws a tantrum if you say or do something "wrong"?
I mean these girls are on high levels of natural testosterone after all. The last thing I would want is to get into trouble because one decides to wrestle with me or hit me on the head with her high heels. I am not so much worried about them or other people as I am about the consequences of what might be, the law etc. I will be in a foreign land with not a very reputable law enforcement system.
I say this because in the past I have chatted with a few online and noticed they could have really short fuse. I blame it on probably hormones they are taking or who knows what else...

Often ladyboys will get extra jealous if they think you are looking at or trying to go with another ladyboy.
It is partly emotional and partly business. Many times they will throw and emotional tantrum and cry if you try to dump them.
Mostly this is just an act and they will say they love you etc. to avoid losing your business. (or companionship)

The majority of ladyboy tantrums are not violent and Thailand is not a violent culture.
Thais are more subdued and respectful in general but the worst thing you can is make a Thai lose face.
So don't do anything to really make them look bad in front of people or they could get really upset.

Generally ladyboys are quite safe in Thailand but there is also a high incidence of drug use among sex workers , specifically methamphetamine.
As such some can be very moody and unpredictable. I don't think the fact they have testosterone makes them any more aggressive or violent.
Most of them take estrogen which usually will offset the male hormones but make them moodier and bitchier, but not particularly violent.
As with most TGs I have met, the combination of all the hormones just makes them more bi-polar but not really dangerous.
Unpredictable might be a better word but even then not that prevalent, Thailand is a relaxed culture.

Avoid street workers as much as possible as they are more likely to be drug addicts.
Usually if you go to good bars you can spend time with the ladies before deciding and then getting one with an attitude you like.

I have had few problems but one time I took a ladyboy and we were having a great time for quite a while.
Then at one point we were playfully wrestling but then i pinned her legs down so she couldn't move, she then proceeded to bite my face drawing a little blood.
Probably my fault but her reaction was quite unexpected. I would say don't do anything to make them think they are trapped or incapacitated.

The other thing is the third world level that most of Thais grow up in there is just a little less respect of life.
So you just have to consider while they are very friendly they may not value your life, or their own life, as much as in western society.
In many parts of Thailand especially in villages the law is very contained. Murders and other crime may never be prosecuted as local authorities can just say they had it coming.
Rapes and other assaults are often never pursued, so people learn to fend for themselves sometimes.
Just keep this in mind for all dealings.

All men in thailand have to serve in the army. This can tend to make the men there quite aggressive or self assured in some situations especially when drunk. Avoid altercations with Thai men as even though they may seem a push over, they are not.
The Thai army is very rough and tumble, sexist and teaches aggression so men there can be unpredictable towards foreigners especially as you get further from civilization.
Fortunately all men have to serve as Buddhist monks at some point too.
Most ladyboys avoid army and monk duties.

Overall all Thai people are generally friendly and easy to deal with.

I have had this experience once when a ladyboy sought me out from this online website. It was smooth talking back and forth then BOOM! she turned into a bitch just because I said I wanted to take her pictures. I just stopped writing. Always be on guard. There are lots of wackos in this culture. I've always wondered about those articles on Pattayaone.net where there are reports every week about foreigner getting clobbered with heels, fists, bottles, and anything available. They are indeed hot tempered like their chili peppers. I've always wondered why they don't fight back. Train yourself to hit back. You don't have to be a victim. Expect saddened bipolar behavior anywhere in Thailand. I've already punished one with two Hawaiian punches right into her left cheekbone. I guarantee you she/he saw the lighting of God in that dark area across from the 911 store near the Hilton. The cops came and agreed I was defending myself. I let her go because she/he told the truth about attacking me first. Then guess what? The cops then charged me B500 for "disturbing the peace". What laugh. The next day the whole hotel staff was shocked why I was bandaged on the left side of my face where I was scratched. They all wanted to find this puta and beat her up. The men and women were furiously mad. I laughed at my experience in Thailand two years ago. My advice is be prepared for violence because it is a way of life in Thailand. Knowing this you'll take my advice and have your fists cocked and loaded. Helps to carry pepper spray and a wooden blackjack. Oh yeah, don't let any ladyboy sit behind you.

Hmm seems you forgot your Pattaya Handbook....

Pattaya Rule #1 - Don't go down to the beach after dark.
Pattaya Rule #2 - Don't swim in the water at the beach.
          etc.

Crag and several other posters have commented that it is a poor idea to fight in Thailand. The main reason is that other Thais may quickly join in and you will be outnumbered sometimes up to 10 to 1. If that happens it doesn't matter if you have pepper spray, a club, expert martial arts, you will be severely beaten. There have been numerous news stories where this happens.

As has been posted in the past the best approach is to stay cool, don't cause them to "lose face", and avoid confrontation. Previous advice is also not to get drunk enough to lose your ability to make good decisions. If that happens you will be more likely to run into trouble.

As far as tempers and emotions go, I would not say that Thai lbs are necessarily more emotional or angry than ggs - although those who are on high dose hormones or drug addicts may be unstable.

Yes my GF told me if she ever has a problem, she will just call her brother and several motorcycles carrying thais will show up in minutes.
That is why I mention the military duty, all Thai men serve so they can mobilize together very quickly and efficiently.
Chances are they aren't doing much or know many that are free, and their casual friends will gladly join in.

Not like in the west if you called your buddies to come back you up, it would probably take hours for them to get there.
They would have to get off work, or find a babysitter or navigate traffic. In Thailand zoom zoom they are there.
They will drive on sidewalks and the wrong side of the road, whatever to get there fast, can't do that back home.
In the west even if you know the Hell's Angels, they would need to know a day in advance to be of any help to you.

I've never seen anyone fight inside a ladyboy bar in Thailand, other than the ladyboys fighting each other occasionally.
I have seen people asked to leave but there never was a problem.
Thailand is not the place to cause trouble, you will never win.
You think the bar just has a few gay hosts and a bunch of ladyboys but they can kick your ass.
Plus guys will come out of the woodwork at you, especially in a place like Nana Plaza, it would be over in seconds.
I suspect if you had any type of weapon they would end up using it on you.
Then the police would be by very shortly to clean up your crumpled ass, and charge you even more if you had a weapon.

On the other hand that is one of the good things about Thailand is they have a group mentality especially when it comes to helping people out.
As much as they would join together to help family and friends, they will gladly work together to help strangers and those in need without question. I've heard many stories of guys too drunk black out waking up in their hotel room beds fully intact.
Police and bar owners are far more likely to help you get back to your room or throw you in a taxi, than put you in the drunk tank.

This is why that even though it may cost more to take ladyboys from reputable bars, it usually pays off for safety.
If you get too loaded or something they will usually take care and you won't just get thrown out on the street.

One good advice after another. Thank you all. Indeed I started this thread to actually avoid fights and any unpleasant situation. I can imagine why fighting (anywhere) especially in Thailand would not be a good idea. My concern was mainly because I felt LB's were more short tempered than average GG's and after all they have bigger muscle mass.
But as George mentioned if you are already the victim it's better to at least fight back.
I will remember the rules, No beach after the dark, stay away from seedy areas, not to get too drunk (does not mix well with cialis anyway) only clean reputable bars, use common sense.

You won't get into a fight if you aren't looking for one or act like wanker.

Best not to stay and fight in any situation, run away is the best option.
As we have said they can have a group of friends there in no time or can even have guns or other weapons.

Totally agree Crag. Unless I was with 8 more Sharky clones everywhere I went it would be best to avoid any escalating situation no matter where you are even in your own home country.

Almost all Asian countries are the same. You never want to get in a fight. They are easily avoided. You just make sure you are not a prick and don't let them lose face. It's not your country, so behave as a good guest.

There are some Asian cultures, like Nepalese and maybe Philippinos where you can get into a fight even if you weren't asking for it....but that generally is a Western thing. Guys in the West will go looking for fights just from a look. That generally doesn't happen in Asia and if you do get into a fight, it's usually your fault.

just be nice, look humble, give them tons of face...And if all else fails, protect yourself and run.

100% correct. I have worked and lived in quite a few countries and spent 6 years traveling the world in the Navy. Not once, in all of those years, did I ever feel it necessary to have a fight or to defend myself. And, I studied martial arts under Dr. Henry Cho. I am pretty much a solitary person. I used to go places by myself. Never had any buddies hanging around to get me in trouble. I drink very little so never without my full senses. I am also not a confrontational person and get along with everyone.
