Yes i could add more general information about other bars. I do talk in general about the Soi 7 and 8 area.

Most of the entries on that page lead to a dedicated page for the bar on https://ladyboy.bar

This hot ladyboy bar A great ladyboy bar and restaurant in Naklua

Most have a google map and more information about the bars.

I was trying to make the main guide as abbreviated as possible for use as a quick guide.
Then you can click in for more detail if you like.
Still some work to be done.

As far as massage goes there is a reason Thai Massage is so popular, and it is not happy endings.
Of course in our cultures the thought of happy endings is interesting but that is not the real draw.

A Thai massage done by good masseuse cannot be beat. There is reasons for this.
First is the price. Depending where you are you get a full hour for 200-500 baht. ($6-15)
Where i live it is $120 per hour for a licensed massage therapist, and they are shitty generally.

Thai massage has been studied for hundreds of years in Thailand is is actually a form of yoga.
There is a temple established hundreds of years ago that studies medicine including massage.
Registers masseuses must be trained here or buy someone certified at the massage temple.
You can actually visit this temple and get a massage from students. Still i think the best masseuses out there are experience professionals.

The Temple is at the location of the Grand Palace which is a big tourist attraction along the big river.
I have not been into any of this complex but have walked around the outside many times.

You can usually tell how good a masseuse is by how fast they try to give you a happy ending, since that usually gets them more money.
A good masseuse can generally count on you tipping them more for a great massage.
I have a spot in Pattaya at the LK hotel that gives really good massage, the girl could even tell I had damage in my shoulder.
In Bangkok I have had massages different places but the one's right near Nana Plaza tend to suck and they try to do the happy ending thing alot.
I like to find a good one then keep going back. There is so many places to get a handy that you don't need to waste a good massage for it.
Sometimes you can get a free handy in a ladyboy bar after buying a few drinks.

This is just another reason that Thailand is so unique and interesting.
Bangkok is a city like no other. You really don't need to make many plans because you could just walk around Bangkok for a week not doing anything touristy and still be amazed by what you see. Nearly every girl and ladyboy loves you and thinks you are a handsome man.

Food food food and more food . And LB's love to eat .. allot usually..especially after a nite of partying. We've been to some excellent restaurants around Pattaya and Bangkok. I don't remember eating a bad meal. . . That is one thing Thailand definitely does better than the Philippines. In Pattaya, Mr 99 seafood, The Pattaya Beer Garden, Sailor Restraunt and Bar, Sathorn Zoom Skybar in Bkk...and even the food counter at foodland grocery store...and the best is the free food during the LBWVB week! That's the most non stop action one man can have... there's allot gewat food . I recall walking down second road in pattaya with my LB and stepping off the sidewalk at the Natural Beach Motel into a chair 2 feet away and having panang curry chicken at 4am and it was delicious.

Yes Filipino food does not even compare to Thai food at all.

That Sathorn Zoom bar was a great find and the only place I have ever had Thai wine.

The best Pad Thai is at the Chatuchak weekend market.

I will always miss the Suk 11 Hostel, some great meals there.

The BBQ in front of Nana Plaza is great too and the taco truck and the squid guys and.......the insects.
i do not recommend the baby frog soup however.

There is also the dirt cheap 'Khao mon Gai'

Also ordering food on the beach from menus that are in the ocean.

I won't even get into Tom Yum Soup, that is whole other thread....

An hotel room is too expensive when you think that what you had more didn’t worth the extra money you paid for it. On the other hand, an hotel room is too cheap when you think that the loss of comfort didn’t worth the money you saved. We have opposite tastes with Crag but never argued about hotels. Each one can choose what he likes. I remember a British guy paying 100 £ a night in Bagnkok, then bringing food from KFC in his suite. I prefer to to payless on the room and eat real Thai food (that is delicious and can be cheap in some places, especially far from touristic areas).
I do like that 4 star hotels are a third of the price of most countries. I have stayed at hotels of all prices in Thailand and I find that many hotels under 4 star have hard beds. Thai people like hard beds and they like cheap hotels so that is good. In the 4 star range they tend to have Western style beds. My GFs father there used to love sleeping on the concrete floor because it was so cool.

I just like the Dynasty for a first timer in the area because it is a very good experience.
It is close to Nana Plaza but not too close and is on a quieter side street. There is dining and stores nearby.
Taxis, cars and tours are right out front. Everything a guy needs is right there.
The rooms are very clean and the staff is some of the best at managing the IDs and guest fees if necessary.
They really look at the IDs and will turn girls down if they are not up to snuff.
I think they still allow up to 2 guests free then charge for the 3rd.

It has a good fitness center and a large pool
A pool is the biggest thing I think about when getting a hotel however the Dynasty has the biggest pool in the area, other than much more expensive places.
I think the JW Marriott and the Terminal 21 hotels have very large pools but also cost $200 per night.
The Dynasty Grande can be had for under $50 if you find the right deal.

Their pool is "Standard" size which isn't very big but in the area I cannot find a bigger one for a reasonable price around Nana.
Also the Shama residences in Asok have a similar size pool, but that is far from Nana.
            image_77385.jpg

In 2015 we rented a condo at the Q House at On Nut Station for 20,000 baht for one month.
It had a really nice pool but a very tiny one bedroom apartment. Just few feet to the BTS Train.

            IMG_0540.JPG

            IMG_6440.JPG

But when we got a Condo for 8 months it was at Elio Del Ray for 9000 baht per month. North of On Nut.
The pool was the longest i have ever seen, awesome.

Final Flash, there has been a lot of good information posted to help you plan your first trip to Thailand. It will be likely some things will be different once the restrictions are reduced, so don't base everything on what you read here.

You seem to think that Thai people may attempt to "push" there religion on you. That is not the case - however, as Crag and others have mentioned you need to respect their culture, religion, and government while you are visiting.

You can also read some of the trip reports - they are also valuable sources of information as well as The Rookie thread.

Don't get hung up on the pay for play scene - it is different in Thailand vs: western countries. Crag and others have posted, you can get a real girlfriend experience, rather than a professional distant "clockwatcher", if you take the time to check the chemistry when you are choosing your companion.

Keep an eye on the airfares, I think there will be some bargains when travel restrictions get eased to entice people to travel, but the prices will likely go up soon after, as the airlines are taking a big financial hit right now.

One other important point is don't get hung up on a "to do list". Many guys look at hundreds of photos and fantasize about meeting their "dream lb", but there are thousands of lbs in Thailand that have never posted their photos, or have not been reported on forums. Don't narrow your focus so much to miss these lbs, many of whom will be just as or more beautiful than the ones you see online. Also as mentioned, chemistry is important. Don't rush things, and see how well you click before making your selection. This can make the difference between a fantastic time or a mediocre or poor time. As for corresponding with the Thai lbs before you visit - this is not a good idea. Any Thai lb who has posted her photos online either on an ad or on a porn site does not want to correspond with guys unless they are in country. They get bombarded by dreamers who ask for photos, etc, but 99.9% of the time never visit Thailand. So don't waste their time, as they would most likely shut you down, once they know you are not in Thailand.

That's not true at all. The barfine at Bangkok Obsessions was B900. That's under US30.00. Used to be B400 and was B300 before I first visited LOS.

Great advise by Rxpharm above for a newbie. If you fear to get lost, prepare a plan, but never stick to details. You should also remember that in places with the most ladyboys, you can find ladyboys : in bars, on the freelance market and sometimes in escort agencies. In some areas of Bangkok, they are all the same. The freelance market is not a homogeneous market. In the 2000s and 2010s many scammers were freelancers. So bar managers (farangs) used it to justify their exorbitant prices. Actually, most of the scams came from bargirls (ladyboys) freelancing after their bar closed.

You can find freelancers around the bar areas. This can be a bar ladyboy coming back from a short time hotel without her customer, unemployed ladyboys, studients or any other case. Once in Thailand, you can find ladyboys with Thaifriendly and/or Wechat. I tried experiments. When you expect a contact in Thaifriendly, it'll come from Wechat and when you expect it from Wechat, it'll come from Thaifriendly. Some guys are luckier with Tinder or Badoo. (personnaly, I stopped using Badoo).
It's better to create your profile in Thaifriendly a couple of months before departing. As above said, don't contact ladyboys. Upload the Thaifriendly App in your phone when you depart and update your location when you're moving from a location to another (It's better to update your location a few hours before arriving).
You can find contacts using Wechat as a radar. You just need to select "Discovery" and "People nearby". This is the way I picked up ladyboys the last time I was in Pattaya. These were no bar ladyboys and I found good partners. I just did it as I was sitting drinking my beer in the restaurant and eating my dessert.

I remember a thread I had written one year and half ago dealing with geography of ladyboys. It's still up to date in Thailand and many places (Actually, it needs to be updated only in Vietnam).

Here are a few photos made in a cheap motel where I stayed in 2015 in the area of Khao Lak. I don't know how the business is run now, but I had paid very cheap prices : 500 THB for a bungalow (Without A/C, price with AC was 700 THB). This is the kind of good deal you can find when you go to remote areas. Regretfully, I had no ladyboy I could have brought to my bungalow (only a ladyboy cabaret that I recommend in Khao Lak). I was the only customer in the hotel at that time.

Well any where down that peninsula leading towards Malaysia, there is endless empty beach and ridiculously low prices on accommodations.
We were previously discussing it could be and interesting drive from Bangkok down there.
You could take the train all the way too. However if you are alone that whole area does not have many other tourists and mostly Thai families.
Some retirees but not a lot to do. For a couple or group though would be more fun.
However you are right, once you get outside Bangkok the prices are so low. In 2008 my hotel in Buriram was almost free.

Still if I was young and single and knew what i know now, I would probably go to Koh Chang.
Many go to Koh Tao and Koh Phanagan to party but those places are affected by the same syndicates as Phuket.

Koh Chang is a National park and very laid back and much of it is still very wild. Mainly because it is not the easiest to get to.

If you are young and want to save money and hang with the backpacker crowd then this is the place to be.
Many western girls and young ladies and ladyboys looking for young men. There is many bars and clubs and rave like events.
The only problem with these backpacker type of party places is drugs, you have to be careful not to sucked into that. Ice will get you.

Koh Chang is great because you can find accommodations on the beach for any price you want. I suspect you don't even need a place if you are so inclined.

These bungalows on Lonely beach were around 200 baht and there is cheap accomodations like this throughout the village.

The best deal i ever got in Thailand was at the Centara Tropicana Koh Chang Resort where i took Cake for a romantic vacation.
Enjoy Koh Chang’s best beach at Centara Koh Chang Tropicana Resort, ideal for couples, groups of friends and families. Best Price Promise | Koh Chang hotel | Family hotels

I got this bungalow right by the ocean for around $60 USD in September. It was off season and a little rainy but overall fantastic.
Private beach, 2 swimming pools and lush jungle.

Excellent shots, Crag. You take so much better shots than me. Warehouse of photos bigger than mine. Love those Angor Wat pictures. I keep procrastinating because I don't know which hotel to stay at close to this place or whether I will find good food so I can taste whether Cambodian food tastes good. I seem to get the impression that there's an out of control population explosion because of serious poverty problems. There's way too many young elementary school kids.

When I was shaken down by the US Customs in 2016 they asked me, "Have you been to Cambodia? Have you been to Chiang MAI". Really fucked up questions. They thought I was a PEDOPHILE. I told them calmly that I've never been to either places. What's there that you're so curious about me?" Then they confiscated ALL my cameras, laptop, SD cards, and such. They violated my 4th Amendment rights! Of course, they found none of those filthy things they were so anxious to charge me with and get feathers in their caps. I hate cops. So pissed off I wrote to my Hawaii Senators and Representatives. They told me to write to the Inspector General. They laughed at me by not replying. Finally I wrote to Hawaii State Attorney General and Florence Nakakuni's secretary replied that they agreed that my 4th Amendment rights were indeed violated. I should NOT have been treated so rudely for 4 hours AFTER a 24 tiring trip from faraway Bangkok and spoiling what was another excellent trip to Heaven on Earth.

Anyway, getting back from our detour. I believed his information about this cheap shot by Congressional shitheads to bend the Constitution. The Constitution is NOT the final law of the land. The US Consitution is a MYTH.

Over the next 4 years returning from Bangkok, I never met up with any of the violators of civil rights. My case was hopelessly ignored. Since I don't drink I walked over to my kitchen and before raising the cup to my lips I mouthed a pray, "Please God, make these assholes pay. Amen." Then I forget about it and continued enjoying Thailand.

Then something strange happened! Trump shut down the entire government. No money means no pay. All Federal workers must by some quirk of law continue to work and wait for their paychecks. I don't know how that affected the US Customs workers but I did read that the TSA was hurting badly and even quitting in disgust. They were desperate to pay for their mortgages, children's education, food, car payments, and so on. I think the US Customs workers who insulted me were affected in the same way. So I returned to my kitchen sink and poured another cup of refreshing Hawaiian spring water and prayed, "Eh, Tanks bruddah! Didn't know you were watching me back. Shaka!" And I drink the whole cup relishing the holy water.

But then ANOTHER MIRACLE HAPPENED this year 2020. God's wife MOTHER NATURE unleashed a deadly Corona virus upon the entire world. This virus is killing only a small percentage of the world population, but the statistics recorded in the millions is deceptively SCARING THE SHIT out of everybody. Yes, even the AG, IG, all Congressional employees, white racists/supremacists, anti-gays, and all forms of lower life found on the bottom of my trashcans. I think the world will die by FEAR and the havoc fear brings. So I returned to my same kitchen sink and held up my plastic chalice, "Eh tanks, Mother Nature. You and your husband God really can mete out JUSTICE. I love the way you both work in STRANGE BUT WONDEROUS WAYS. SHAKA, both of you. Amen" BTW, could you please make my C antibody test come out positive. I'd like to know so I can shack up with my Thai lovelies. I do miss them so.

                          Chiao!

I have never been to Angkor Wat or actually been Cambodia. This is an ancient 1,000-year-old Khmer Hindu temple sits atop an extinct volcano and is in Buriram Provnince of Thailand. Phanom Rung Historical Park.
Part of the temple extends into Cambodia but is completely controlled by Thailand.

                            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phanom...istorical_Park

This temple has been in many movies and i think it was the 'Lost City' in an Indian Jones flick.

There is many hotels in Buriram now to stay and visit this place.
Buriram is about 7 hours by car from Bangkok, no need to go to Cambodia.

I was staying with my LB at her home in a village near Buriram. She said it was called Village Number 10.
For some reason I ended up taking most of the village there.
