  There are a lot of ex-pats there so I am sure some of them have had the ever-popular idea of opening one, is it very difficult to get the proper permits and permission from the govt?? Not that I would open one, mind you, but I figure *someone* would have by now!

I've been trying to figure that out, but yet to talk with anyone in the industry to get the insider scoop there.

I figure there are a bunch of regulatory obstacles and under-the-table relationships required to pull it off, and combined with the prudish and capricious government, which I've heard has an obligatory crack down on non-religious type establishments every now and again to appease the powerful catholic lobby, I guess that's why we don't see establishments suited to homosexual (gasp) activities.

You've got to realize that most of us have been fooled by TS's who left school at 13 and can hardly speak a lick of English. What hope would we have with a super-smart TS?    ......  .....  

But, I can back you up, I have met some impressively smart PI TS's. Most I've met though, while perhaps not book-smart, have quite an aptitude for wit and humor. One in particular regularly has me in stitches of laughter.

Having been to Philippines many times, I can agree with you on filipino's ability to speak english (albeit a different version of english, its not perfect english like the brits or americans speak). However I think the type of lb's you're talking about aren't a dime a dozen, that we can pick 1 up at costco.

You're talking about lb's fortunate enough to either be rich or have scholarships, and I'd say they're rare, the elite, the cream of the crop and they can pretty much have any guy they want - so likely off the market.

Don't forget attraction has to be both ways for it to click.. like you said many of the guys who say they're yummy, you would not consider to be yummy. I think most of the guys who post here are good hearted, but not exactly fitting someone's description of "yummy". (Sometimes the nicest person a lb clicks with, isn't probably the first person they'd find attractive and fuck without him paying them). But that's life..

So guys have to be realistic, for every 1 of the type of girls you describe, they will meet 20-40 of the type they describe.

I was really looking earlier and the number of college grads is like 20% at most honestly among the population.

haha - well I was talking in general about the punters here. As I've said before, I've never been to Thailand, but I have met or chatted to other foreign TS girls with poor English.

Anyway, it was tongue in cheek and I'm sure you got that

btw. I think I know the Oracle girl you're referring to. A friend of the STRAP girls. Now there's a powerhouse of TS intellect. One of which just finished giving a presentation in Washington DC at a quite prestigious conference.

I was guilty of a gross generalisation Alyssa and gave the wrong impression on that topic -and yet, while four of the six Filipina ts I know had to read textbooks for their university degrees, I have never known them read for pleasure in the way that people in the west do, I certainly did not mean to imply the girls are not smart so lets clear that up.

For those interested, here is some video from the famous Mandaue City Miss Gay (Hate that phrase) Beauty Pageant. I shot this about 5 weeks ago. Sorry for the crap lighting, but it was so packed it was the only place I could get a seat. In the middle of about 50 lbs. Check some of the crowd shots, must be 500 lbs there. Drool away gentlemen!

Who said there's nothing to see and do in PI? btw: There are hundreds of these pageants each year in Cebu City alone. This is probably the 2nd biggest.

Some do and some don't. I don't think I've read anything more than inflight magazines for pleasure for ten years. I get bored too quickly. Books are too long and I can't remember any of the characters after a few minutes so what's the point.

Books should be modernized as follows...

Before each new chapter there should be a paragraph update, explaining what has happened so far - same as a TV program.

In fiction books there should be 'annotations' at the bottom of the page where necessary explaining stuff that the author thinks I should know. Similar to text books at school.

Front covers should be made of something that doesn't permanently warp out of shape.

Authors spend too much time showing off their vocabulary. They should be taught to develop a more pithy style.

Books are written in such a dull way that it's no surprise that there are less people reading them.

Maybe start a new thread on this one, eh?

Someone could write the opening para, then anyone could follow up with a second, 3rd etc.

Or no... It may be all too hard.

Can't agree with you on books though. I get far too engrossed in books to the point where I have found myself taking a piss at the airport with a book propped open on the urinal. Gets some strange looks. I always have on ready for immigration lines and such: they make waiting in line in Thailand (car and bike licenses, all that government stuff) far more tolerable.

actually thats a good idea but actually no need for that for in the Philippines they are everywhere. The best place to meet a TS girl is in a BPO company. Most TS girls in my country work for Dell,Citiback,HP,HSBC, PCMall, AT&T, Verizon, AOL, Earthlink... and many more. But off course youll hardly see them lurking on the internet and bars they dont have time for that lol

my TS friend who is in Las Vegas now for work, a Database Admin is not a member of STRAP. but 2 ts ladies of STRAP were just recently been to Spain for GLBT conference. and 1 of them last year just been in United Nations in NYC for GLBT speech and empowerment
