I went to see the Alcazar show in Pattaya last week and feel the urge to review this show.

We bought the tickets at their office earlier in the day and then returned 15 mins before start.
The ladyboys from the first show were outside posing for photos.
My wife wanted a pic, and when I took longer than expected to extract the 100 baht from my pocket, the LB got aggressive in addition to being high-nosed already.
This LB appears to be the show leader. hmm.

We got inside and sat down.
Water is dripping from the AC at the ceiling. I don't want to know what's in that dripping water, for example legionellae bacteria which then end up in your drink (which tasted  watered down already).

The show can at best be rated "average" (Calypso in the Asia Hotel in Bangkok is much better).
There were not many people in the hall, and the "Leader" LB got visibly annoyed by not getting the usual acclamations.

Then the sound track of the show broke down 2 times, interrupting the plays.
They hurried up and skipped to the next without apologizing or explaining for anything.

The girls themselves are covered with so much makeup that the faces are not easy to see.
There was a part where they showed some boob, but this was rather a gallery of botched boob jobs than a pleasure to behold.
The girls at the bars are much prettier.

Some positive things:
- a couple of solo performances were quite good
- the costumes are great

My rating: not recommended.

It confirms my suspicions that it's just another dirty and seedy tourist trap.

Lets be honest, these cabaret sucks sooo bad. Its torture sitting thru 90 mins of overdramatic lip sync to Celine Dion songs. To make things worse they insists on the obligatory "comedy" act which is unbelievable infantile.
I rather listen to Genesis, thats how boring it is.

Sounds like they need a marketing consultant.

From my last memory around 2 years ago there was a ancient historical scene which was slightly spoiled by the sudden appearance of an unsightly pair of scruffy Reeboks lurking beneath the high Lords flowing robe...

It was like one of the those old Hollywood Films..remember in Ben Hur where some of the Romans are wearing wristwatches. It sort of ... spoils the moment

one supposes that its heyday was the early nineties. RIP i wont be going back
