  • View Talay 6 Condos Beach Road Pattaya

So in September 2012 I was on my way back from Koh Chang and I stopped in Pattaya for a few days.
I looked on Agoda and found a condo in the View Talay 6 Condo high rise. It is a very large 27 floor Condo building right on 2nd beach road but also backing out to the beach as well, it spans the whole block between the two roads. It is right beside the Hilton Hotel complex which has the huge Central Festival Mall. On the main floor there is several stores, restaurants and laundry outlets as well as several condo leasing offices. Pretty much close to everything, baht buses can be taken from both front and back doors, in fact you could take a baht bus from the front to the back.
When you bring dates back to the condo there is security guards now that take your guests ID and give them a claim check. This first visit in 2012, however, they were not taking IDs then. There was security but they didn't do anything to track the ladies going in and out, I am glad they started. Still it is less hassle then having to do it at most hotels.

So I got this room online for $1500 baht but I was a little unsure as I had always stayed in hotels. So I get to this place and it was just a big apartment building, no obvious place to check in.
I walked down the hall to the elevators and eventually found someone from security there, they directed me to the Condo office.
There is many companies renting units in this building some own their units, sublet other people's or both.

This condo I rented from the company VTSIX

So the first pictures I show are from the VTSIX condo September 2012.

The unit was on the Walking street side of the building which I now like the best, There is a good view, I think this one was on the 18th floor. The Naklua facing side is now partly blocked by the huge Hilton Complex, which also makes alot of noise with it's fans and such on the roof. The room has a full kitchen, huge balcony and good bathroom, as well as a safe in the closet. A large flat screen tv with cable and free wifi internet which seem to work decent. Overall I was very impressed with this unit for the price.

Back to the View Talay 6 November 2014

So I was back in Pattaya in November of 2013 and I booked another condo at the View Talay 6 on Agoda.
Again it was from VTSIX condo rentals and the unit was the same as the one I stayed in previously in 2012, I think it was actually right next door on the 18th floor.
This time I paid more around $2200 baht.

I booked it for 5 days but I wasn't really sure how long I was staying in Pattaya. This time from the moment I got there things were not nearly as good as the first time. The people were grouchy and when they took me up to the room when they showed me the safe, it didn't work and they never fixed it!
After a day or so I noticed there was a bolt missing from the lock on the front door and you could pretty much just pull the door handle off quite easily. I complained about this and the safe many times and they would not do anything about either problem. This unit had daily cleaning but they just seemed to clean the middle of the room and change the sheets, the cleaning was much better the first time. Other things in the room were falling apart, a broken towel rack was just lying in pieces in the bathroom and there seemed to be broken stuff in most closets and drawers.

I didn't really get any pictures of this unit but as I say it was almost the same as the previous pictures, just in more disrepair.
Was having a good time with Da so I decided to stay in Pattaya longer, but I wasn't staying in this crappy condo longer.
Here is a picture of Da I took in this bad room.

So I wanted to stay in Pattaya longer but I needed to look for a new place. I got online and found a condo in the same building but from a different Condo Rental company but still on Agoda. Honey's Coffee House and Condo Rentals was the company run be a very nice lady named Honey.

It was $2000 baht per night and it was on the 24th floor on the Naklua side. This one was a private condo that was being sublet by Honey.
This one was decorated really nice and had a great TV with surround sound and excellent free internet. The balcony on this one was a little longer than the last couple of units I was in. This one did not include daily cleaning but they would do it up to 2 times a week for free. It had a safe and was very clean and well taken care of, even came with a free coffee at her coffee shop on the main floor. The coffee shop is where you also check in and out.

This one was right above the fans on the Hilton so quite noisy but other than that I have no complaints about this unit, always try and stay on the walking street side of the building. This visit was also when the security started taking girls ID.

Back to Pattaya in November 2014

Back in Pattaya November 2014 for the Ladyboy Volleyball Tourney.
This time I just emailed Honey and asked her what rooms she had available for my 2 week visit to Pattaya.
She has many listed on her website but the site is very annoying to browse, so we booked it by email.

I got a unit on the 22nd floor and on the walking street side where i like for $2200 a day, not including cleaning this time.
Honey charged me a 6000 baht deposit for the 2 weeks as she charges a premium if you use credit card to pay for everything.
The prices here had gone up across the board, but still this was a good price for what you get.
I think Honey owns this one and it wasn't quite as nicely kept as the last one, but everything was well taken care of and clean.
The cleaning was 300 baht per visit and I didn't this twice a week which was fine.
Had a great stay here and spent much of my time at King's bar which is like 3 blocks away.

I didn't get tons of pics of the room but here is a couple plus the one's Honey sent me.

I stayed here for the Volleyball in November for 4 days. I booked within a week with Honey's coffee shop and I got a really nice room on the 17th floor on the Walking Street side for 1755 baht per night. It turned out to be the nicest room I've had so far staying in this building. My GF took few pics of the room on her phone but i'm not sure where i put them.

The good news is that the empty lot next to the View Talay 6 is still not developed which is great. Rooms on this side of the building are great as there is nothing blocking the view or no noisy construction. If get a room on the other side it can be a little noisy with the fans from the Hilton and mall next door, plus it blocks the views some.
Not to mention on the walking street side there is no one close enough to see into your balcony or room, very private.

Fun reading about Talay and your friends. Am always guessing what I would build in that huge empty lot. I think a Casino company from Vegas or Macau might buy it and build the most beautiful hotel in Thailand. Would attract the most beautiful girls and ladyboys from all over Asia to satisfy the super rich and famous. That supergirl is Mas, and she is very friendly and fun to be around. Funny I didn't even see her at the Blue Lizard at all last winter. This bar has gone downhill with so few bar people. Don't even turn the lights on at night. Only Woody is there and she has gone dull and boring. King's Bar is full of people outside in front of the bar, but I don't find them attractive at all. My last trip really disappointed. With Pattaya Obsessions gone along with my friends and the decreased crowds of young people along Beach Road I have wondered if this would be my last trip there.

I've always enjoyed my stays at View Talay. Good prices and nice rooms and the location can't be beat.
I was hoping if they build something on that lot i would be another condo, not a hotel and shopping mall like on the other side of the building.
Also that they don't block all the views from that side. On the Hilton side they tried to build it so it didn't block the views from View Talay but the fans are noisy.

Haven't seen Massey around for a while but I think the ladyboy scene on Soi 8 is not so good.
King's bar is up for sale and they mostly have ladies left and couple of the long time ladyboys.
At one time King's bar really propped up the ladyboy scene in the Soi 7 and 8 areas but now the bar is just on life support.

Maybe George you should buy King's Bar as it is right in your favourite spot. You could even live there as they have guest rooms. LOL

The scene over on Soi "Made in Thailand" is picking up. 69 Bar, Hunnie Bunnie Bar and New Bar are all fairly new and on that street.
Plus 69 Bar and Hunnie Bunnie are sponsoring volleyball teams this year.

There is a a group called Kantary who had a plan to build a condo/hotel in the spot. Just typical of Thailand, it's stalled likely due to funding.

Kantary is interesting. What should be built there? Already got too many hotels, apartments, shopping centers, 7-11's, stores, restaurants, massage parlors, beauty spas, and everything else. Need something that Pattaya doesn't have and geared to the tourism industry. Casino fits the bill. Make a super Casino and all the rich Chinese who are fed up with crowded staid old Macau or don't want to fly so far away to Las Vegas. Fill it with first class dim sum restaurants and exclusive shops. Massage parlors selling 2-hours massages including around-the-world services by the most beautiful Thai girls and boys so pretty you can't tell if they are real girls. Have beautiful bars with huge aquariums where you can drink REAL imported liquor from Europe and America and not those cheap fake liquors. Throw in some Italian restaurants where they use real tomatoes and not that fake salty paste from cans. Japanese, Chinese, Zechuan, Korean, Singaporean, Indian, and American food should be served so I don't miss home. There so many rich Thais like the Red Bull guy who get bored trying to find something to do with their money rather than sitting in a bank generating interest. Add a huge arena for international boxing matches, Thai fights, Ladyboy and girl fights, and some ladyboy wrestling contests. Even roller derbies are great for betting as well as entertainment. Sports betting in huge in Vegas. Will be so in Thailand. Someone with imagination, money, and political connections needs to step forward. Keep the cops out.
