  • Our Kuala Lumpur Trip!

Just got back from a terrific trip to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

The widget below leads to a few of the many pics we took.

What a brilliant place it is, too.

Very friendly and helpful people. Lots of great food options and we stayed at a terrific hotel with a nice view of the iconic Petronas Towers.

Olay fulfilled an ambition by getting fitted out for a swanky sari... I had the same curry every day!

I've started to use 'Shutterfly' as an experiment
because I have lost my patience with that fucking
stupid and impossible to understand 'Flickr.'

Those two pics above were taken from our hotel room.

We stayed at TRADERS HOTEL just across from the towers.

I recommend it 100%, too... although we declined breakfast. It looked great but it was outrageously expensive... plus you can't get a bacon sandwich for love nor money!

Olay looked happy with her shopping...what's in the bag ?

KL is becoming a viable alternative for business expats based in SEA, especially those fleeing the mainlander hordes in HK   Reasonable cost of living, good infrastructure etc but the sodomy laws are a bugger

What do/did you like about it Marko ? (Apart from the curry..)
Did you exchange a walk-on part in the war for a lead role in a cage

Well - the things we liked were...

#1 - The local people are very likable, friendly, helpful and approachable.

Much more so and noticeably better than any other place I've been to.

#2 - Everything is in English and everyone speaks English... and actually the local lingo is very easy to pick up.

              #3 - The FOOD!

#4 - Lots of beautiful people of every color and creed...

              The downsides...

Too much pollution and too many smokers.

Well... I didn't enjoy being detained and robbed in Chow Kit

Actually, 1st time i went there i didn't mind the place... now its an inconvenience in my travels.

However.... Malaysian lady-boys are generally outstanding in the sack

                What to do...

Does Kuala Lumper still have the Man United Bus stops like they did back in July 2001?

                      They were everywhere back then

Great to see you both had a fantastic time! I've been to Malaysia twice, but not recently.

I have to agree about the food, quite tasty there! You actually can get pork at some of the 5 star hotels, they require a "pork license" and separate preparation facilities (similar setup to Bahrain and UAE), but of course it's more expensive.

A neat segue from KL to Malaysian food, one of the best cuisines in the world & not given due recognition IMO.

Chicken Kapitan, Curry Lemak, Spinach Belacan... makes my mouth water just thinking of them...
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.
