  • Can't access the site/forum?

Now this is a really awesome trick for people who have been having no luck trying to access the site and forum from Thailand...

Proxy servers get blocked one after another by them damn do-gooders and are often difficult and inconvenient to figure out... But hey, Google can help!

    Try this:

    http://www.google.com/transla....ite.com

Well all it does, is translate your forbiddensite.com from English to€¦English!

And there you have it, one naughty website served.

But of course, there€™s no guarantee the boys in brown won€™t simply block Google!

Another trick I use is VPN back to the states. It works 100% of the time and even in heavily controlled China and the Middle East. I happen to use PublicVPN.com ($59.95 /year).

A side benefit is no one can snoop on you such as others on the wireless network or in the hotel (many hotel high-speed lines are connected with hubs and all connections can be seen and monitored).

              yeah that will work great

Stogie, if you got an SSL certificate I could encrypt the proxy channel from LOS to the US. No one there could snoop on the packets.

I just got back from Saudi Arabia this morning, am catching up on the forum posts. one week away and so much to catch up on.

Anyway, as i feared, no way to access the site and forum from there.

Landed this morning, snow everywhere and temp at -10°C. But happy to be back.

i will be happier in 1 week when I fly to LOS...

So does the Saudi government actually know about asian-ts.com to be blocking it.. or do they just use some kind of porn site list and block them all I wonder?

I guess finding a Ladyboy in Saudi Arabia would be non existent?

i guess it must be from a list, or they get "informants" to signal sites that are "vice".
They do have a department called the "promotion of virtue and the suppression of vice" there. i think if they shortened it to SS, it might save on the letters
Anyway, even a Blog (with no nudes, but some semi sexy pics) was also blocked.

No, i did not notice any ladyboys, but then, anything could be hiding under those black face-and-body covering robes. *sigh* i DO try to keep an open mind, but with those people, it is not easy. I was really looking forward to getting out of there.

Arriving in LOS on the 6th January ant 4pm, counting the days...

Here I will show you some real Proxy servers to play with...
You just enter the URL of the site and it connects you... Proxy servers act as an in-between. You tell it where to go.. It goes there and gets the info and relays it back to you. The server or site you are connecting too only sees the proxy connection and has no idea you€™re connected too. You remain hidden... and it's a good way to connect to sites like ATS that might be blocked locally... if you can reach a Proxy server then you should be able to connect to the blocked sites too.

                        http://www.freeproxysurf.info/cgi-bi...xy.cgi/111100A

Here is one using SSL. They are using a bogus certificate but don't worry about that it's still 128 bit encryption from you to the proxy server. This would be a good proxy to use if you were in a place like Saudi Arabia where they might be trying to snooping on your internet traffic. :

Before you start go to http://whatismyip.com This will show you your real IP address that your modem is using. You can use this test once connected through a Proxy and you should see when you enter whatismyip.com into the Proxy the IP address of the Proxy server you are using.
