    Transsexual Seeks Mate Online

    2006-03-20 15:22:04 chinanews.cn

(By Lin Lulu) Huang Ningqian seems to be born beautiful judging from her graceful figure, high heels and tasseled shawl and every single movement reveals her feminine charm.

Nobody would ever imagine that such an attractive lady used to be a handsome man four years ago. On Mar. 15th, Huang began her open mate-seeking via the match-making channel of the website www.zj.com in Hangzhou, becoming the first transsexual looking for a Mr. Right online in China.

When Huang met the reporter, she came straight to the point and said, "I want a family, as any other women do."

According to Huang, many a young man from Shanghai and Ningbo wanted to start a romance with her but in vain due to failure of communications between them.

From a survey of netizens' opinions about online mate-seeking of transsexuals conducted by the website www.zj.com, the reporter found that Huang's behavior is incomprehensible to most traditional netizens. 52.8% of 892 voters indicated that they do not understand Huang's behavior, which violates general moral rules, while 8.4% of them chose the answer "hard to figure out and feel strange." Only 38.8% of those surveyed consider such a behavior normal and understandable. Some online forums of Hangzhou were flooded with abusive comments on this issue such as "sick behavior" and "nonsense." Many netizens even thought that Huang attempted to arouse sensationalism with online mate-seeking.

At the press conference of a beauty pageant held in Hangzhou on Mar. 9th, Huang Ningqian unveiled her status as a transsexual and questioned the organizing committee on the spot whether a transsexual can participate in a beauty pageant. The media present in the press conference were all interested in such a daring way to disclose one's special status.

Ironically, Thais originated in China, from the Yunnan province in the 1000-1200 range. As such, our lovely LBs have a Chinese heritage, granted China didn't completely exist as it does now bach then.

          ONLY 38.8% ?
Well..for a place like China, and for many other places on this planet, it's not really a small %
          Surprised it's not only 3.88% !!

..bit more complex than that Ziggy:

The derivation of the Thai people is rather vague, but scholars believe migrations probably occurred from the Chinese province of Szechwan around the 1st century AD. However, recent discoveries suggest that a sophisticated culture existed here that predates even the Chinese. It also appears that a mysterious kingdom of Indian origin was established around the 3rd century BC in the Nakhon Pathom area, where the country's largest and most important Buddhist monument now stands. Migrations of the Mon from Burma and the Khmer from Cambodia also contributed to the ethnic makeup of the Thai people

Hey, 38.8% of China is more than the entire population of Europe (or darn close).

Hell, 38.8% of China exceeds the population of...

Now, considering the imbalance of men and women in China, especially in the rural areas, if just 0.1% of the imbalance (I think the imbalance is around 40-50 million, but I could be mistaken) were to decide to switch genders, then that would be about 40 - 50,000 posties.

Retired the top 12.  Need a new dirty dozen.

                THINK BIG HUH??

..but that's absolutely right! And on the top of it, consider that a lot of women are "taken" by the expatriate men who are frequently going or living in China, like thousands of Taiwanese, Hongkongers, Singaporeans, etc..
Hence less and less women are left to the locals.

Just finished a very academic book on Thai history, written by a Thai. He says the root is Yunnan. Anyhow, we digress. It is safe to say the Burmese, Cambodian, Lao, Vietnamese mixed "a little" but not huge, because they generally hated and were killing each other pretty much non-step for the last 2000 years.

I'm thinking "Workers Stadium", what are you thinking?

I'm thinking: even those big apartment buildings in Hong Kong, the massive geometrically arranged complexes, couldn't hold 50,000 posties. And remember: that is *just* from the imbalance. There are a lot of balanced posties from the rest of the population.

                    Scissors? We'll soon need lasers!

No, the average 45 storeys Hong Kong building may only "store" about 1000 ppl
You would need about 50 of them!
Laser..are we talking about mass production or just remembering 007 Goldfinger clip with Bond spread on the laser cutting table?
