I dont know how many of you all read Stickmans Column (it went off line for awhile but is now back up as Stick Mark 2) anyway every once in a while he talks about "Katoys" or ladyboys and always bad ,untill a few weeks ago and I forgot what he said but It was not bad not good but not bad. Now this week he has a photo of Guess bar and talks about Asian TS ,,,..I dont no why the change.....is he looking for Asian TS or Guess bar to advertises on his site????HUmmm anyway Its good to see his site back up..As much as I like Guess bar I hope this does not make a big rush of people to Guess and get the girls all thinking they are super stars (Even Tho They are Super Stars ) chok dee

Last week Stickman was wondering why 'Alpha Males' ( 'big guys with tattoos' according to Stickman) like Ladyboys, this week he published two email responses. Both so absurd as to be make me break out laughing

Why alpha males love katoeys.

Easy answer as to why the majority of farang dating katoeys appear to be muscular tattooed types. Many men in prison take up with a male wife and continue with this pastime once they are released. In the US and probably most other countries, many criminals spend more of their lives behind bars than outside with repeated arrests and thus have multiple homosexual relationships. For those of you looking for something a little different, Guess Bar is a new ladyboy bar located in Sukhumvit 1 Plaza. The bar is located on the upper floor (2nd floor to Americans, 1st floor to Brits). Open about 7 months, it has already been voted as the best ladyboy bar in Bangkok and the best ladyboy bar in Thailand by readers of a specialist forum, Asian TS. The owner is a stunning ladyboy called Jay who has built up an attractive team of ladyboys, some of whom can pass as real girls, even to old hands! The bar itself complements the more infamous ladyboy bars in Nana as it offers a contrasting experience. For a start they have a smaller number of umm, err, girls. The likes of Obsession and Cascade have over 80 staff - Guess has less than 20. Guess Bar is an enclosed bar that feels more like a club with sofas, relatively quiet music and hostesses wearing dresses, not bikinis. This bar appeals to guys who want to try ladyboys in a comfortable and not threatening environment. 18 staff work in the bar and drinks are typical Bangkok bar prices: 110 baht for Heineken or Beer Lao, 180 baht for John Smiths, 110 baht for Gin, Vodka and other spirits. The staff look passable - they don't look like guys in frocks but that said there are no post-ops in the bar (i.e. had their tackle removed). One of the most appealing reasons for being where it is, is its discrete location - near to Nana but not in a busy building with lots of potentially embarrassing encounters from being seen entering or exiting by friends, colleagues etc.

Good to see Stickman back doing what he does best. The guy is an internet legend in Thailand and will be talked about with the likes of Bangkok Phil while there is an internet.

Hi to all, been quiet for a while, but couldn't resist answering this topic.
I've never consider myself to be "Alpha" male, or beta, or gamma... Nor do I wear any tattoos. I'd like to think that "we" - who are attracted to our ladyboys - are not so hung up with labels, or what others think of our style of life.
It's back to the same answer: There are no easy answers, and as long as everyone is happy, who cares?
Having said that, I still enjoy Stick's column, and I agree with SB: That was a quality, and objective review of the Guess Bar.

The biggest problem with his column is the negative shit that seems to be the focus of the people who write letters to the editor. I stopped reading it, I know Thailand isn't perfect but it is a lot better than most third world countries but the wankers who write to stickman what losers.

I actually emailed Stickman about the bar opening - nice he has taken time to summarise it - he replied that its "not his cup of tea' but would be happy to get an alternative view on what is becoming an integral part of Bangkok's nightlife. For all I know, maybe he went and looked for himself......
