  • Who makes you laugh

Well the world would be a pretty sorry place without laughter wouldn't it

    Who really makes you laugh

My all time favourites are Laurel & Hardy , I never tire watching them , magic .

People like Eric Morecambe and Tommy Cooper , I only have to look at them and Im laughing .

Billy Connolly, he cracked me up in his early days but lost his cutting edge when he got really rich and lost touch with the people he based his comedy on .

And Monty Python , great old fashioned silly British humour

So who gets you laughing ?

Dennis Miller ....very cerebral but a bit too right-wing these days!

        Steven Wright

        George Carlin - the Master

        Dane Cook

        Dave Artel, the insomniac

        Denis Leary
Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I still think Billy Connolly is hilarious, have a loadof his live cd's,but would love to see him live on stage.
I can watch re runs of shows like Open All Hours and Only Fools and Horses constantly, and even though i know the punchlines or what is coming next,i still end up rolling about laughing.
Shows like that were pure comedy genius, they dont make them like that any more!

Mort Sahl, Godfrey Cambridge, Jonathon Winters and Woody Allen. In my opinion they are the foundation for the comedians that followed.

Apart from Denis Leary there are no funny Americans.

                  (PogueMahone @ May 28 2008,05:12) Woody Allen.

I remember watching one of his movies where he tried to escape from prison with a gun made of soap only to find it was raining .

In the same movie he played a cello in a marching band , running out in front and sitting down on a stool .

                  Great stuff

                              Buster Keaton
                              Harold LLoyd
                              The Keystone Cops
                              Laurel & Hardy
                              The Marx Brothers
                              ITMA
                              The Goons
                              Round The Horne
Steptoe & Son - of course!
                              Peter Cook - the greatest!
                              Tommy Cooper - fantastic!
                              Morcambe & Wise - naturally.
Monty Python's Flying Circus - I always wanted the Michael Palin part that says;- 'It's!'
Dave Allen - the everyday reduced to the rediculous!
The Two Ronnies - Ronnie Barker being by far the best
Richard Beckinsale - a promise sadly taken away.
Jasper Carrott - probably the most brilliant British comedian of the 1980's
Leonard Rossiter - another talent taken away to early.
Rowan Atkinson - I prefer his set pieces like Black Adder over his Mister Bean - also a fantastic writer/producer.
Jack Dee - scarily close to my own sense of humour - though my brain works more like Terry Gilliam's cartoons!
                              Dawn French & Jennifer Saunders.
