Just curious how the group on this forum, which is about Ladyboys and not politics so therefore may hold a good mix of differing opinions, stands on political issues of the day?  I will start it out with Moderate; I try and see both sides equally, and being an ex-Reagan Republican in my youth I have been on that side already. Now leaning kind of to the left based on the 8 year disaster we just had here in the states, but still around a 4 or 5 on the ideological scale.

if a 1 is Janeane Garafalo and Lefty, and a 10 is  Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, where would YOU stand?

(JaiDee @ May 04 2009,11:42) Just curious how the group on this forum, which is about Ladyboys and not politics so therefore may hold a good mix of differing opinions, stands on political issues of the day? I will start it out with Moderate; I try and see both sides equally, and being an ex-Reagan Republican in my youth I have been on that side already. Now leaning kind of to the left based on the 8 year disaster we just had here in the states, but still around a 4 or 5 on the ideological scale.

Aw shucks amigo, you know to say the nicest things. I'm really enigmatic because I take what is considered right wing stances on certain key topics. I don't agree with the left wing stances on immigration and border security. I do not agree with amnesty for illegal aliens and I think the job of the National Guard should be to work with The Border Patrol. NEVER EVER should our National Guard have been sent to Iraq like that scum sucking Dubya no good piece of dog shit did.
I am not for more gun control. Especially for me. Everyone else, I'm not so sure of. LOL. Seriously I am pro 2nd amendment.
On the other hand, I think gay marriage should be legal. We should be able to bring a ladyboy over here on a fiance visa if we want to, and marry one, if we want to.
Porn should be totally legal nation wide. Utah, Alabama and the rest of the bible belt can join the 21st century. Prostitution should be totally legal as a form of occupation by anyone 18 or over. Pimping should not be and should be prosecuted severely.
Weed, Ganja, Pot, should be totally legal to be grown, possessed and consumed by any adult 18+ who feels the need to do so.
Anabolic steroids should be totally legal for use by anyone over 18 who wishes to do so. If crap like soda pop and hot dogs are legal, why not steroids?
All ocean beaches should be publicly owned and all should be clothing optional.
Gambling should be legal nationwide to same degree it is in Nevada.
Those are a few topics specific to the USA and how I feel on them.
Does all that make me a left wing lunatic? I think the first couple of things slightly balance me out, maybe.

I'm a social liberal but a financial conservative. I support institutions like gay marriage and I'm pro-choice, but I also want a laissez-faire government when it comes to business/economy. I'm pretty much of a libertarian attitude: less government regulation and more freedom.

I oppose things like anti-smoking laws and seatbelts. If you don't want a seatbelt, you shouldn't be forced into wearing one. In fact, I believe these laws exist solely to charge people money for breaking them in the form of tickets.

I'll give ya' a 1 for the Bush comment and a 2 for the rest of your spiel, deal?

Truth be told, if I had to hang around with the far-left crazies or the far-right crazies who follow Hannity and Coulter and the religious right and those type of freaks, I'd choose the left any day.

                    is that like an Islamofascist?

I would say I am liberal for social issues, but conservative for financial issues.

I voted moderate, but conservatives would probably brand me a liberal.

Idealogues seem to want to win arguments and promote their agenda. All Ii care about is what works.

I'm a big Obama fan. He's a strong leader while Bush was an embarassment to me and my country.

My right wing positions include free trade and I'm against affirmative action.

ummm... parties promote their political ideology, tailored to their stupid militant base.
This makes it impossible for parties to have a nuanced and balanced political agenda.

I do think almost all parties/political groups have some bits in their programs which make sense.

The only groups that don't make any sense in my opinion are the communists and the green, along with religious fanatics.

I've got several funny stances on the current challenges of society - most people would call me mad:

                            - immigration: everyone can travel anywhere
                            - work regulation: no work permit needed, everyone can work anywhere, no minimum wage
                            - taxes: as few taxes as possible. No property taxes, no inheritance taxes.
Flat VAT on everything. No taxes at all for revenues under a certain level and cap taxes at 20% of a person's net revenues in general.
Introduce progressive tax on corporations, based on consolidated assets or turnover. The bigger it is, the more taxes it must pay, starting at 0% for very small companies and up to 66% of profits for very large corporations.
                            - welfare: only for nationals, a minimum revenue, state shelter for the poor, but must work for the state
                            - welfare for foreigners: no minimum revenue, state shelter (but 10 in a room), must work for the state (but can search for a proper job), light & emergency medical treatment only, possible deportation at any moment
                            - other social topics: free school for nationals, at a cost for foreigners
                            - family policy: strong incentives to nationals to have children: subsidies per child + guaranteed job for a father of 2 or more, tax exemption.
                            - pro-family taxation:
double income households (i.e. where both partners/parents work and live under the same roof) without children get their tax cap raised to 50% of revenues. This is to encourage child birth and to easen the upward pressure on real estate prices and rents.
                            - no adoption for same-sex couples: just because I am against it.
                            - nationality: restrictive. is inherited from parents. Naturalization is subordinated to knowledge of a national language and the approval of local community members in form of a vote.
                            - imports: no restrictions, anything can be imported by anybody, just sanitarian and technical minimum standards must be proven to be satisfied
                            - security: very heavy, but non-intrusive measures where possible. DNA-control of foreigners who come with an ID that is not reasonable forgery-resistant. Deportation of criminal foreigners (those sentenced to more than 6 months of real prison) after they worked as prisoners (road repair/cleaning etc.). Death penalty for foreigners and nationals in 100% clear cases of murder of several persons (like when there is proof + confession or irrefutable proof).
                            - restriction of voting rights: no voting rights for people depending on state welfare, and no voting rights for people who don't declare own revenues at the tax office (this is to make sure people who vote are actually part of the society).
                            - more direct democracy:
if citizens collect a minimum amount of signatures, a referendum must be organized by the state on that exact question.
the government must then act in conformity with the people's will.
                            - protection of civil rights:
politicians who repeatedly try to restrict civil rights (like it is the case in germany) can be impeached and banned from public office for life.
law enforcement personnel who infringes civil rights repeatedly by using improper procedures (like invocation of a life-threatening situation to locate a mobile phone while they just wanted a suspect located, or giving false motives for getting a search warrant) can be barred for life from law enforcement positions.
Intelligence services can operate without any restriction, but are not allowed to communicate on any civilian law enforcement issue (except murder, terrorism, and anything that puts more than, say, 50 persons at risk of death).
                            - economic policy: as few bureaucracy as possible. instead, creation of a few minimum standards, but heavy and frequent controls of these standards (like truth in advertising and product information).
Heavy regulations for protection of the environment.
State companies where it makes sense.

I could take issue with you on a number of these stances, all I will say is:

Be careful what you wish for.

One thing I will add concerns the question of paying income tax - the best way to avoid tax minimisation schemes that unfairly favour the big corporations is to to do away with income tax completely.

This has been well argued by smarter men than I but either a deposits tax or a broad goods & services tax takes care of government revenue far more fairly & effectively.

Imagine a world where no-one needs to fill in a tax return, where the tax lawyers have to find a real job instead of dreaming up ways to defraud the state...

The increase in efficiency in the way a country would run is staggering. In the US alone, it is calculated that such a plan could fund their own health care scheme.

Not before time, what a joke that the so-called biggest economy in the world stands alone in not being able to provide the type of free health care that EVERY OTHER first world country takes for granted.
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.
