  • Week # 17 Final week

OK a lot of teams are going to be tanking things this week as all but the wild card spots in the AFC decided where there is a complete clusterfuck. I've tried to have games that will actually have teams trying to win.

This is the last week and as promised there are 2 bonerus games. The Championship is still up for grabs so havde at it.

    Week # 17

    Game # 1

Jacksonville Jaguars (7-8) at Cleveland Browns (4-11)

    Browns by  1 1/2

It will be a bit nippy for the Jags from Fla playing at the mistake by the lake in America's cesspool and the brownies will be trying to see if Mangenius should keep his job or if Holmgren will persuade Chuckie out of the MNF booth

I see brownies getting their 4th in a row.

    Game # 2

Philadelphia Eagles (11-4) at Dallas Cowboys (10-5)

    Cowboys by 3

A game with some meaning!!! The red hot Eagles with 6 Ws in a row meet the Cowboys who finally found out how to win in December, now can they carry it over to January?

Eagles streak ends and The Boys win

    Game # 3

Chicago Bears (6-9) at Detroit Lions (2-13)

    Bears by 2

Da' Bears got some pleasure upsetting JaiDee's BFF on Monday night and can only salvage some dignity and avoid some embarrasment by losing to the motor city kitties. Detroit can hope to stay in the hunt for Nebraska wunderkind Suh by tanking.

2-14 is still better then 0-16 Da' Bears

    Game # 4

Pittsburgh Steelers (8-7) at Miami Dolphins (7-8)

    No Line

Both the Steel crew and the Orange and teal are still alive for a playoff spot although the Orange and teal wll need a lot of tanking and/or collapsing to squeeze in. Big Ben will at least keep the fire burning.......til the second half when Chad the man will make another comeback.

    Orange and teal rule

    Game # 5

Atlanta Falcons (8-7) at Tampa Bay Bucaneers (3-12)

    Falcons by 2 1/2

Two teams playing out the string but I think the Falcons have a little more to play for.

    I'm going with the Falcons

    Bonerus Game # 1

Tennessee Titans (7-8) at Seattle Seahawks (5-10)

    Titans by 4 1/2

The Titans would love to finish at .500 after starting 0-6 and should manage it over Elizabeth's brother in law

    Titans 31-23

    Bonerus Game # 2

Green Bay Packers (10-5) at Arizona Cardinals (10-5)

    Cardinals by 3

This could be a great gun slinging game although these 2 teams could possibly meet in the first round of the playoffs on this same field. But they have to play it anyway so there will a score.

    Packers 24-21

Lets see if someone can catch the swinecanine!!!!

I deliberately left the 2 games mentioned here off the board exactly because of this. Sorry KL but the league is scared of Big Ben. This is from Jason Whitlock of Fox sports

                          10. The next time someone tells you that a playoff format would make college football perfect remind him/her of the Colts laying down against the Jets and the legitimate allegations the Patriots and Bengals will lie down this weekend to keep the defending champion Steelers out of the playoffs.

The NFL isn€™t going to discount tickets for its second exhibition season. It€™s still going to cost $25 to park your car. But, as is prone to happen this time of year, the league will treat us to a string of meaningless games pitting players mostly trying to avoid injuries.

Oh, there will be a handful of AFC teams giving their all, making last-ditch attempts to secure one of two remaining playoff spots. The problem is, their opponent won€™t care much about winning or losing. Or, in the case of the Pats and Bengals, the opponent might have incentive to lose.

€œCincinnati is probably going to go into New York and lay down for the Jets and not play them hard just because they€™re not going to want to see Pittsburgh in (the playoffs),€ Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley told the media on Wednesday. €œNo one wants to see Pittsburgh in it. That€™s just how it is. Everybody knows we€™re a dangerous team once we get into the playoffs, no matter how we played the whole year.€

It€™s true. Pittsburgh can€™t qualify for the playoffs if the Pats and Bengals both lose.

If you were Cincinnati or New England and had an opportunity to eliminate two-time Super Bowl winner and fourth-quarter assassin Ben Roethlisberger by keeping the playoff hopes of New York€™s Mark Sanchez and Houston€™s Matt Schaub alive, wouldn€™t you lay down?

New England plays at Houston. Cincy plays at New York. The Pats and Bengals, winners of their divisions, have secured playoff spots, and there€™s little difference between being a No. 3 or No. 4 seed. Bill Belichick and Marvin Lewis are expected to rest numerous starters on Sunday.

I€™m not suggesting the college BCS system is superior to the NFL€™s playoff system. I€™m saying there is no perfect system, and the media ignore the obvious flaws in the pro format.

Last Sunday, the Colts spit on history, pulling Peyton Manning and several other starters from a game that could€™ve put Indy one win from regular-season perfection. We€™ve heard a plethora of excuses and rationalizations for the Colts€™ decision. The only one that makes a kernel of sense is the Colts, too, want Big Ben on a couch with a remote at playoff time.

Sound crazy? Did you see Roethlisberger€™s 503-yard masterpiece against the Packers two weeks ago? Did you see his game-winning dart to Mike Wallace as time expired?

If the Steelers qualify and safety Troy Polamalu returns for the playoffs, Mike Tomlin and the Steelers could raise the hell he promised a month ago. Smart football people know this. The Steelers are a great defensive team when Polamalu is on the field. If he€™d remained healthy throughout the year, Pittsburgh is 13-3 rather than 8-7 and gasping for life.

So, yeah, it makes sense for the Bengals, Patriots and Colts to lay down. Why not let Denver (Kyle Orton), Baltimore (Joe Flacco), Houston (Schaub) or the Jets (Sanchez) into the tournament and eliminate the champ before the postseason begins?

I know I will definitely have some Texans and maybe some Jets on my fantasy team!!!!
