  • IT tech... question for IT guys in Patts or BKK

I think I will need a full size aircon'd rack at home, with air filter.

Are there any suppliers in BKK or Patts where I can acquire a quality rack?

what you use youre server for
            2 or 3 NAS,
            2 or 3 PCs,
            Gigabit Switch,
            VPN router.

plus probably a local server for development work.

Why would you host that stuff at home in Thailand, instead of putting it in a Data Centre somewhere ?
              Ask BAM for details.

I hope you are not planning on using this for 'production', connectivity sucks here with frequent 'lapses', poor bandwidth, high latency. Plus if you have stuff in Thailand you can be subject to their computer crime law....which is they can arrest you for anything anytime any reason.

                I was wondering that myself.

Its safer, cheaper and more reliable to have all this done for you through Bam.

these are only local PCs... not internet servers

the NAS are for storage (I got 2 TB of movies) for my Mediacenter

I have close to 10tb, a linux box w/ raid and NFS+Samba is fine.
no NAS, no RACK, just a small room w/ an AC that is almost always on.

yes, the small room would be a variant too.
