You might also want to check out these catalogue sites

      avaxsphere.ws
      softarchive.net

for e-books, LPs amongst them and tons of others travel guides (Frommer, ...) etc. They all link to server-sites like rapidshare, depositfile, and alike.

I find the search function on avaxsphere better. Softarchive mainly links to rapidshare. Account is some 7 Euro per month which entitles you to dl some 2.5 GB per day. Works well.

            Cheers manarak,
I got the link from a friend and just presumed it was torrents, realised it wasn't after I posted, but could not change the thread title. Looks like Stogie has done it for me. Hope you get some use out of it.

            Cheers again.

I've tried the site repeatedly from Thailand and all I ever get is this message: "We are sorry, but all downloading slots for your country are busy."

Is the site just bait to sell so-called 'gold memberships,' or has anybody actually been able to download from it without buying a gold membership?

Well, it IS bait to get you to join, but the free version usually works OK for me if I limit myself to 2 or 3 downloads.

Yeah it seems the key is to downlaod one at a time as Stogie mentioned. I also got the "We are sorry, but all downloading slots for your country are busy." a few times, cannot remember was it while another download was in progress, gotta keep trying, you will get what you want eventually.

Okay, it finally worked for me this morning after getting the 'all slots for your country busy' message all day yesterday even trying just one download.

                          Thanks for the link.

Was with BigMick the other day and realised he had not seen this thread and had bought a Lonely Planet.  So will bump it back up here for any of you guys who may have missed it first time round also.
