  • For Americans Who Have A Thai Bank Account

Americans who at any time during 2008 had the equivelant of 10K dollars in a Thai Bank account are supposed to file form TD F 90-22.1 by June 30, 2009.

The way I see it there's no reason for me not to comply. I declared the minimal interest I earned on my 1040 so no reason to risk the big fines for not submiting the form.

With great difficulty unless you wire transfered funds from an American bank.

I think the reporting requirement was meant to target terrorists and heavyweights with Swiss bank accounts.
