Also, very small city and taxis are cheap. Orchard Hotel is literally across the road from Orchard Towers, and also has an Irish Bar in the basement, so highly recommended;

That is their rack rate quoted on website. Try e-mailing them and see what they really offer.

Just a note to thank you stewart, i stayed at the strand and working girls isnt the word!!!! the place was full with lbs, i hd a good drink down at boat quay and went down to orchard towers, all in all i had a 3 day ball, excellent place for a quick visit and will be happy if i have to go back in the future, Great lb bar in orchard towers but i thought i was hearing things when the chap asked for $30s for a double vodka!!! still a great place, also had a nice day tip down to the beach there, cannot remember the name of it but know it began with a s. Anyway thanks veruy much for advice i would have been ballsed without it.

Which lb bar was this? Romeos IS more expensive for drinks. Crazy Horse usually SGD15 for bottle of Heineken. Vodka Cranberry in Ipanema was SGD17 last night

Sentosa is the resort island at the south end of Singapore. Actually has the southernmost point on continental Asia. Like a mini-Disneyland nowadays. I think that is where they are building one of the new casinos next year.

As you say, cool place for a few days, bars open to 3/4/5am, but not so cheap!

With you on the prices stewart, same as london really, $15 a single vodka an orange but the best thing was down at boat quay they had strongbow cider!!! my favourite drink in the world!!!!!! and at $14 not expensive at all considering i pay 120 baht a can in bkk. I got charged $30s in crazy horse but it was a double and after i told him i couldnt taste the vodka he seriously topped me up, Firewater! In answer to room rate it was $80s a night and you are right about the girls they do stay 2-4 in a room, i had a great deal of entertainment in the early hours around the hotel rooms on the prowl with a bottle of sam song i thoughtfully brought at the airport on the way out there! I would recommend the place, nothing posh though but good enough with big screen tv just across the road and tiger flowing nicely,,, in fact as i am writing this i kind of miss the place, i had an absolutle blast there, considering i went alone i met quite a few people in the bars that kept me entertained and i will go again soon as i move out to thailand. People are very friendly and i met 2 local lbs on the beach there, yes you got it sentosa beach, very good place to spend the day, i went to the southern most point just over a bridge and had a look at all the friggits, excellent. one place that comes to mind in the haze of drink memorys was a australian bar in orchad towers, no idea what floor but i had a good drink in there until a blackout then the place closed. over all 8 out of 10 for the time i had. I would like to do a trip report, maybe in a few days.
