I get the feeling that all this is kind of inevitable and that in 5 years time we'll look back on all this fuss and bother with a bit of nostalgia.

I know the USA is pretty conservative on this issue, but you just can't fight it.

It's akin to when people were "living in sin" in the '50s and '60s.

It seems stogie had a premonition and it came true when the US Supreme Court threw out most of the immigration law relating to this issue. Now US immigration treats same sex couples just like married couples or soon to be married couples. Plus, more than one fourth of the states now have legalized same sex marriage.
