i think ive got some sympathy for what you are saying here mate.
i wont be joining VIP .thats my choice and those that join to make,nobody can be too critical either way.
the site is ONLY a money making venture for those that own/run it, nothing more nothing less.
however, given that this is the case then those who are trying to make the fast bucks are doing so, in part,on the backs of your past information/contribution and that of others,even mine .
so given this, then strictly speaking the forum should have been wiped clean and started anew,i dont see a problem with this as we know that as soon as information about LB,s and the LOS P4P scene in general is passed on..............its allmost allready out of date and not really worth much.............that is the truth.
Mostly the forum is for titillation, idle gossip,bitching,photos of very thin thai blokes with cocks out,sometimes fat BM with cocks out ,sometimes good humour and other general assorted load of bollocks really.
as i for one can do without most of these if not all its no big deal for me,my whole life dosnt revolve around LOS or LB,s so theres a limit to how much of my time and money i will put into it.
im also a member of another forum,this one dealing with Thai GG only,i dip in dip out, again just when i feel like or the time leading up to a trip.
there are many forums and groups out there and the chance to open a new one to get back the essence of what this one used to be is readily attainable.
i would consider opening a new one myself,but at the moment and my lifestyle/work will not allow me time,mayby that will change.
also its crossed my mind while writing this that many of the new VIP,s are likely to be actual expats,or resident in LOS.......i would wager this in fact id wager theres a high %.this i would find odd if true
if i was an expat in LOS i would in no way waste my money on a porn site.
bit like being the chef in a kitchen and ordering in a takeaway.

That's why it's important to keep replenishing the Forum with new blood!

Think your observation is correct about many longtime posters like me.  It's nice to have a group of chums that like ladyboys rather than being the oddball who likes ladyboys.

Just hung out with my mates tonight in Pattaya and the Forum is a great way to touch base with each other when we're 10K miles apart.   What made tonight especially interesting was meeting Tan for the first time.  She's a super cool chick!

Lots of different constituencies here ranging from guys who just want to wank of to the pics and nothing wrong with that, to guys seeking info as to how to make their first ladyboy hunting trip successful, to guys who have been hanging out on this Forum for years.

But probably the most interesting reads are first time Trip Reports and it seems like there's lots of new TR posters and I believe that will continue to be the case whether guys find it in their interest to pay for VIP status for an added degree of privacy or prefer to post it in the free section with hopes of a free upgrade to VIP status if it's an exceptional report.

It was fun while it lasted, but now it's over. I don't blame the owners for trying to make this forum generate some revenue, just don't think it will succeed. I can't be bothered to acquire a credit card just so I can cough up 33 baht a week to read about the bar scene in Bangkok and Pattaya. Something tells me the vast majority of forum members will also decline the offer to become VIP members. As a great deal of the info and pictures posted on this forum came from people who wanted to share it with others for free, I also suspect the forum owners will lose most of the material that people might be prepared to pay for and thus they will lose potential paying members.

This forum is confronting a problem shared by nearly every "news" and information related website: how to make it profitable. The vast majority of visitors are not prepared to pay for content. Period. It doesn't help that there are free alternatives for just about every kind of forum. In my case, I would not pay for any of them, even if it meant I had to forgo pretty much everything I use the internet for. It's bad enough with cable TV and pay-per-view. I got along just fine in the days when there weren't any internet forums that wanted me to pay to join and I'll get along just as nicely if I ignore them and find something else to do.

The bottom line is the owners of this forum are screwed. There is no way they'll make a profit that justifies their efforts. They can either keep the forum as it was as an act of charity and hope they get some advertising revenue to cover their costs or they can hang on in there till the losses become too much to bear. No hard feelings, but they made a bad investment. Caveat emptor and all that.

Rumours of the death of the forum are greatly exaggerated...

It had to be suspected that many people would vote with their feet once they were faced with paying a charge, no matter how small, to access the juicy bits. But they don't need to leave, there will still be open parts of the forum where questions can be asked & information can be exchanged.

I am sure that the open area will evolve - that will be the nursery where members of the public will arrive when they google for ladyboy information. Once they have found TLBF they will soon discover that the free section only goes so far.

Hmmmmm, I can hear them thinking, what can be so good to justify paying $50? Only one way to find out...

And along with all the existing content, the stuff that is yet to be posted, tomorrow's Trip Reports will be better than what has gone before. Look at how much better the photographs are these days. More guys have bought good cameras & now feel it safer to post ALL their pictures. I know there are some fantastic pics that have never seen the light of day which we may get to see once there is security.

I do think the forum will suffer in the short term but the sheer volume of interest in the subject of ladyboys will ensure a continual flow of curious newbies all hungry for news about LOS & its 3rd Sex. Information that is only available on a few sites. If I was looking for the first time & I saw one of the sites had the cheek to charge, rather than dismiss them, I would assume that they were very confident of their product. And for only $50 I wouldn't die wondering.

So before we all bury TLBF as a lost cause, I remind everyone just what a fantastic collection of stories & pictures they have built up here over the years. And don't forget, the other site owners would be following this with great interest because I am sure they would love to do it too. If only they had the product...

I have posted two trip reports in the past year or so. Are you telling me that l can no longer access them without paying to become a VIP member.

Somehow that sounds very unfair. If l had known perhaps l would have not spent that time and effort to post them.

Then again if someone takes the time and contributes would it not seem fait they they have access to the VIP section?
