I think the Admin, went the wrong way about this!

As this new VIP section is mainly made up of peoples personal reports and photos, which is the main hub of this forum, and was contributed and built up over the years for free. Now finding their contributions moved to a paid section where they cannot excess their own work without permission of the contributor.

It should have been the other way around ..... The VIP section should have been started off blank, then a request made to join and move their contributions too that section, leaving the choice up to the members ......... not the way it was done here, and would have been a bit more diplomatic.

I have no gripe about the money, if you need it .... you need it!

And thinking that this will solve the 'hero' problem ...... think again!

All LOS related forums (not just LB forums) with FREE VIP/Advanced sections are having the same 'hero problem' the past year. And the finger points mainly too the members who have exclusive status, as they are free to read all sections, and the information that is past on is mainly from these exclusive sections. So to think that these hero's are lurkers, newbies, or just members is a myth.

Lastly... if a member pays a years subscription, and a month later finds himself banned because he has said the wrong thing and up set one of the mods........ will he be REFUNDED?

We are aware that the 'hero' problem won't be fixed overnight with the new format, but we are doing something to address the concerns of posters who want some measures of privacy.

Of course. We will provide a high level of service to all our members, VIPs and otherwise.

I think it would take quite a bit of doing to get banned around here....

But you do make some good points   I have raised some concerns myself, but I think Admin are being flexible about this and I am sure that all 'interested' parties are, and will continue to be, treated fairly.

That has usually been the way around here

Forum posts benefit both the Forum and the Poster. Obviously a forum needs posters but Posters also benefit greatly.

Other posters are more willing to share information and meet up with those who are active and pleasant on the forums. If someone with three posts says, "looking for lads to crawl with and send me some #s of big dick ladyboys" he likely won't find any takers.

So the prolific poster has already received great benefit from his posts by having built up his credibilty. So it's a spurious arguement that a poster at his whim can say, "cancel my membership and remove all my posts" after he has received the benefits of posting.

As a forum owner I'm naturally biased in my opinions. At our
non-ladyboy forum we are considering a pay VIP area so are monitoring the situation closely. My gut feeling is that we won't be going the pay route because it's just not worth the backlash.

Interesting observations Mr Chin  

I think there are 2 issues driving the recent dynamic here. And one of them has muddied the waters somewhat.

I was until recently involved myself with a large Thai based GG forum relating to the Thailand and SEA Bargirl and p4p scene. A VIP subscription system was introduced. However, this related almost purely to streaming porn content, special member discounts, etc. A few forums were added for the VIPs to natter and exchange pics etc, but the rest of the Board remains as is.

No backlash. So I feel a VIP area is not a problem per se.

Coinciding with this new development,  there appears to have been a need for the more 'regular' contributors around here to protect their content from the people in the 'peanut gallery' and reserve it for those who contribute themselves and have some respect for the subject. This is all fair enough. Although with a Board of this size and history, managing that transition will take time and even some re-thinking along the way.

Hence the backlash. Some people quite rightly may feel genuinely slighted or left out. (And I'm not talking about the tossers who never posted much or at best a few pics here and there. Anyone who asks for their TRs or pics to be deleted or moved back to general admission will have their request granted from what I have seen. So the rest can continue to benefit from the free stuff and move on )

Hell no!
I'm already a member of 6 other forums with VIP/Advanced/exclusive FREE excess to all. Good God, its a bit late in life to start paying for it here

But I'll tell you one thing I noticed about forums with exclusive sections....... Those who do make the VIP status, and post their TR's in that section, eventually find that there is very few of the chosen ones reading it, then after cleaning up their TR's a bit (photos) re-posting their reports back in the open section for all to read, after all that's who it was written for, and for the benefit for all, and get a better response. I think you will find later, the majority of TR's will be in the open section in the long run.

I mean why bother in the first place, when its only a handful of the chosen ones that would benefit from your own work.

Fine! ....... things like the old XXX photos should be stored there! ........ but then is it a forum or a porn site. Most forums prosper without the old wanking material, and the posters get into less trouble from the GG's or LB's in them, and gives less for the 'hero's' to do their dirty work.

I had to delete only one of my TR's, after getting grief from one of my old flames, mainly because she has a sponsor now (and because of these HERO's) and the TR had xxx photos. But re-posted the same TR with the normal out and about photos of her, and as I never mention anything about what goes on the the old bed department, she and I guess her sponsor are quite happy about the whole thing now.

I prefer to spend that $50 in LOS on the real thing ..... for supporting my chosen LB for that nights pleasure....... or to spend it in the support of my favorite LB bars over there.......... for without them ....... we would be all sitting here at out keyboards with nothing to talk about only FOXNEWS or something.

At the moment i am already a member of asian-ts.
I also have already read every trip report up to december, so i don`t really see the point in joining an additional pay site, especially because i almost know the "content" already.
And i think 50 $ a year is too cheap.

Why don't change this site into a "bar-related" pay site with additional discussions forum ? The problem with asian-ts is, that you can't browse for bars. Everything is mixed up a lot over there. Huge photo library with small travel-advice section... Vice versa would be better....

I would easily join a site with regular content and updates. concerning ladyboy-bars. But i don't want to let things get out of hands, and join here and pay there etc...

I have lots of sympathy for this site here, but for joining as a paying member, it just not feels enough for me.

I agree, I am also a member of Asian-TS, however I liked this forum for the extra info and advice from the trip reports that I have been able to use on my trips to LOS. The "wank" pics were nice additions but not really why I was reading them in the first place.

Like many others I think my 50 bucks will be better spent in LOS (probably end up over the bar at Guess.) or in some young things pocket.

Lurker here as i live in thailand and basically enjoyed reading the boardmembers posts trip reports etc etc

i own a couple of forums myself and i feel the board owners pain it is very time consuming, moderating adding and deleting photos etc etc

however it is a forum, meaning guys use there own time constructing trip reports taking photos to share with fellow board members,

boardmembers do this in my experience for a few reasons,

some for the adulation

some because they are simply exhibitionists lol

some for semi god/stardom status

and a few just simply to share their personal experiences

problem is taking away those posts and future post whichever way you look at it will not only massively decrease the traffic coming to the site,

it will also take away the whole reason the big posters were posting in the first place for hits adulation comments banter etc etc etc etc

as for the so called expenses lol the board software is negligible, once paid for there it nothing more to spend unless you want to pay small fees for yearly upgrades, and as for bandwidth and storage space 20 dollars a year would be more than enough,

if you took a public forum on as a full time business i would seriously reconsider your employment options lol as there isnt any money in it period, you do it for the love of doing it and when you love it no more move on,

basically IMHO you have got it the wrong way round, rather than trying to charge boardmembers to read boardmembers posts lol
you should be hitting up the bars who gain lots of customers through your once great forum

your forum once and still for a shortwhile is the best on the net dont destroy it with some bad decisions as once they leave they rarely comeback,

you have a massive amount of members the majority of which will not pay to read BMs posts, use your large member base as a selling point to all the bars and businesses  that have had a free ride for so long,

a question will you be paying boardmembers for trip reports and photos they put on your site, free of charge to you ? yet you want to charge others to read, "i think not"

without members contributing you have nothing to sell remember that

please dont take my post in the wrong way i simply took the time out to give you a different perspective on your current decision that i for one think will destroy a great forum, its not to late to rethink ways to make money

sorry i didnt mean 20 dollars it was a miss type, i meant 200 dollars a year,
thats all its costs me to host 6 websites and a forum with a similar amount of members you have here,

Must be pretty slow then especially for the videos.

I pay $120 a month for dedicated servers with separate dedicated back up hard drive which manages back ups.

That for me is great value and means that the forum runs fast and videos stream smoothly.
