Thanks to everyone for your kind and sometimes humorous responses to
my experience. I can laugh about it now, but at the time it was
truly devastating. I was very naive.

Now, about my experience in Bangkok.

I chatted with the Thai ladyboy for about 6 months before visiting
her. She is university educated and her English was excellent. I
discovered she looked down on Filipina ladyboys. Apparently, many
Thais think Filipinas are inferior. This was difficult for me to
understand, as we in the USA are usually very accepting of people
from other countries. But any time I mentioned Filipina friends of
mine, she would get very mad and say they were trash. She was very
jealous. When I told her about my experience with the Filipina girl,
she told me, "serves you right for being with garbage". Then she
wouldn't chat with me for three days. Her opinion was that Filipina
girls were not true ladyboys, just low class gay men who pretended
to be women in the hopes of attracting a man who would take care of
them.

Finally, we made up and started talking again, after she emailed me
and told me she was in trouble and needed some money, which I sent
her via Western Union. Over time I fell madly in love with her and
was overjoyed to finally get to meet her in the "land of smiles and
blowjobs".

Like my first experience, we went shopping, had lots of fun, a nice
dinner, and then returned to my hotel room. This time, however, we
had sex. I was going to use a condom but she insisted she wanted to
feel me inside her with no latex between us. The sex was good,
although she seemed distant and simply going through the motions. I
had heard Thai girls are not overly-passionate, though, so I thought
maybe this was the case with her.

When I woke up the next morning she was gone. She took all the

didn't steal my wallet or cellphone. She left a note on my pillow.
It simply said: I HAVE HIV. I HOPE YOU DIE FARANG!

I was in shock. I decided I had to cut my vacation short and get
back home so I could be tested. I was scared to death. I was able to
get a flight out the next day, so I went to a club that night to
drown my sorrows. Much to my surprise, I saw her there. What should
I do? Should I approach her? After enough liquid courage, that is
what I did. When she saw me, she said it was just a joke, she didn't
really have HIV and she was sorry for scaring me. I didn't know what
to think. What a cruel joke. She said to excuse her for a moment and
she would be right back. So I waited in the bar for her and when she
returned, she begged me to forgive her and then asked me to
accompany her outside so she could talk to me, since the music was
very loud in the bar.

We went outside and I followed her behind the bar so we could talk
in private. There was a guy there, her boyfriend I suppose, and he
pulled a knife on me and demanded all my money. I guess she had
spotted me in the club before I had seen her and they had planned
all of this out. They emptied my wallet to the tune of nearly $5000.
Fortunately, they didn't take my ID or credit cards.

When I returned to the USA, I got tested and fortunately the results
were negative. Thank God for that.

I'm currently talking to another beautiful ladyboy and hope to meet
her soon. Maybe the third time will be the charm. I sure hope so.

On the subject of boyfreinds, it would put me off seeing any escort or hooker. But not if it was someone I was trying to sleep with. I would say that for most its the feeling of being wanted that keeps them in a crap relationship. With one or two notable exceptions most ladyboys are incredibly insecure people and having a boyfriend gives them a sense of worth that is more important than most shit a crap boyfriend can throw at them.

Incredibly insecure? Judging by what some of them wear in public, I would call most of them anything but insecure about who and what they are.

Personally, I've never given them the chance to tell me about their thai bf, because I really don't want to know. I always make it a point that both of us know that we are going through a business transaction, money in exchange for a few hours/days of pleasure, both intimate and also in the "pretend"world. Guys, you would never do the things you mention in your own country with a prostitute you met 1 day, or 1 week ago, so why would you do it in Thailand? The slim little bodies do not imply sweet honesty.

In the USA, if you liked a prostitute, wouldn't you be watchful as hell for theft, and avoid her like the plague if you knew she had a boyfriend around town wanting to make money from her, and you stopping him from doing that?

Not sure how many times it's been said here, but just be unbelievably careful and for God's sake avoid the street girls, as you will never, ever, ever see them again. At least the bar girls you can get their IDs from the bar, report them to the police and feel some minor satisfaction.
