1200 is fair deal. there are several places that advertise 800 pty to bkk but you have to pay the toll and its a meter-taxi. ask around in 2nd rd outside white house, lot of metertaxis waiting there for a return trip to bkk...

It sometimes takes soooo much time to get to Ekamai, and then to get on BTS to Nana. Anyone tried that before?

Yep, I usually jump off the buss on the way from Pattaya at the first BTS station. On a bad day when Sukhumvit rd. is jammed this saves quite a lot of time. Remember to have all your luggage in the bus though, the driver won€™t let you pull anything out from the storage below.
