There are a couple of things that I think haven't been thought out fully for this transition that I'll add my 2bt on in the general interest of feedback rather than bitching, altho some of it has been touched on already.

Mainly it's the "intellectual property" issue of people having voluntarily contributed to a free forum & now having it essentially confiscated & sold, in some cases sold back to the authors. I would agree with the suggestion that previously public areas stay available & that only new material go into a "VIP" area, unless the original topic authors wanted them set apart.
For one thing these older posts would act as a "marketing" lure for the more current info available in the VIP section to newcomers who wouldn't know what they might otherwise be missing, it would also resolve the confiscation of intellectual property issues.

Secondly the businesses that contribute material, or discounts etc.,.. to the forums are usually in the Bangkok/Pattaya/Phuket forums & if they are VIP only they are going to have their audience cut down, probably dramatically, to the paying punters who already know about them.
I certainly have spent hundreds of $$ in them since I have been here the last year or so, for example PBR last year & C&D most nights on this year's visit, along with most of the other bars that the members talk positively about.


Anyway I do understand the $$ & time issues as well as the photo problem, bad time to be asking people to be spend more of their discretionary income though.

Well balanced post and worthy of a reply.

The plain fact is that if we don't generate some kind of income from the forum then we lose it. All of it.

Some people will think that $1 a week is worth the extra and some won't.

As for the copyright issue... it's covered somewhere in the rules post which all members sign when they register.

I registered with this forum after starting to be curious about LBs

Through it i have gained a lot of knowledge and will go with a LB for the first time on my next trip.

As i am a newbie to the scene and never been with a LB my contribution to the forum has been very limited as there is nothing (i feel) that i can contribute to the discussions for the benefit of BMs.

Rather than ask all the usual questions which have been asked ad infintum i use the search function and do my reading through previous postings.

It's a shame that i will lose this tool, but as stated elsewhere much of the material is available on other free boards.

As you get newbies looking at the limited access new forum you will get less people registering and the TR posting will decrease in volume. Again as raised elsewhere you will have an ever decreasing inner circle.

The members of the new VIP forum who are saying "it's only $50" seem to be the ones who are being elevated and won't have to pay.
Sure it's only $1 a week...if members were allowed to pay $1 a week!

I wonder how the bar owners of Ezy, Stringfellows, C + D, etc feel that their catchment area is being restricted and they may lose customers who would have visited their establishments due to seeing the girls on the forums.
Businesses need to encourage new trade through new customers...

However i wish you success for the future and i will look in to see if there is anything worth while on the limited viewing available.

We are always looking for ways to improve. The security that the paying VIP members have is already paying off as the new VIP sign ups start posting new trip reports and adding to old ones. All in all there has been a great response from members so far who value privacy.

In the future we'll be giving out VIP memberships for trip reports posted in the free area.

Of course there are going to be many people who don't want to pay and we have more information in our FREE areas than all the other online forums combined.

I agree to what was said here. I have started my LB sexperience thru this forum and it has help me to try this ones in my life time and I like it. also thru this forum, I belvied somehow I have made some partonizing with sponsors or should I say advertiser in this site like cascades, la bamba, Obsession , penthouse hotel, GUEST BAR etc.

I think by limiting or pushing newbies to pay some extra for them to post their report on their experiencing will defintely only reducing new members in this forum.

I fully believed that the administrator of this nice forum has to think it over and over again, or else you will just let this nice forum end up only those so called VIP's putting their own report or whatever and will only disppointed newbies that I think are the main benefit of all your advertiser in this forum.

So owners of the LB bars advertise in this forum, try to take this up before it is too late.

Some good points, machodik...

The advertisers and bar owners can continue to promote their bars for free here as much or as little as they like.

The VIP area will get more trip reports not less. The amount of people who want some privacy and general forum security has risen a lot in the last year or so.

Many of our best contributors have removed their posts and images or have refused to add more because of the fact that everyone can tune in and see them.

We have responded to the wishes of our most valuable posters and they have started to come back and rejoin the forum.

As you say in your post - this forum is a GREAT help for any newbie who is thinking of travelling to ladyboy heaven. You can get all the advice and help you need here.

We hope that there will be enough of our faithful that will support us by subscribing. We reward them by giving them exclusive access to a secure and private area where they can read and post with less nosy 'heroes' around to spoil things.

It's $1 a week... If that's too much then there is still loads and loads of free stuff for anyone interested in ladyboys and the ladyboy scene anywhere in the world.

Don't forget that this message board isn't part of a porno site that already makes money. It's a stand alone business and has to make ends meet through subscriptions and affiliate sales.
