Using drugs in Thailand is illegal, and unless you are very rich, likely to get you into a LOT of trouble. Ganja illegal in all S.E. Asian countries. Use ...... Up to you! This forum is for adults, not children.

This is an old thread but i thought it belongs here?

Patients, folk healers in Thailand could soon grow own weed ( qoute and link below)

"Medical marijuana got a spurt of growth yesterday with cabinet approval of a proposal to allow patients, health workers and licensed folk healers to grow marijuana.

Relaxing the government’s grip on cannabis production, the proposal from health minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who has promoted wider access to cannabis production, would effectively allow millions to grow cannabis. The cabinet’s decision to green light the proposal was announced by government spokesperson Traisuree Taisaranakul."

Maybe one can get a prescription easily.. like Sarah Silverman... she said she had a medical condition where she could taste the filling in pop-tarts 🤣. When weed wasn't strictly legal everywhere in California ( i was a tourist; foreign national) and you could only get it with a medical license, I easily got one online from medical MD thing... face to face virtual on phone interview, pay 40 bucks a poof!!.. medical mj license in your inbox. So it would be interesting to see if something like that might possibly exist in Thailand for tourists so they don't have to carry... can buy it there? After all it would be a prescription ...maybe the clinic on Soi Buakhao ? Clinics will stock it like they do the little bags of pills... thinking about that they already have many little zip lock bags ...

Thailand plans to be number one in weed.

Those THC oil drops you posted before didn't seem to need a license to procure.
It was like they did it all included with the transaction.

Compared to all the stuff you can get without a prescription in Thailand, weed is not that big of a deal.

It is a very good bet that Thailand will revise the laws about marijuana, cannabis oil, etc. News reports are that Pattaya is estimated to lose 100 Billion Baht in tourist revenue, (Pattaya Mail), for 2020, with an uncertain outlook for the next few years, alternate income sources must be found.

Thailand was planning to be number one in the world in marijuana production long before this situation started.
They have the best product and cheapest growing conditions.
Thailand does not necessarily need expensive indoor operations like Canada.
Rice growing land in Isan is better suited for cannabis growth than for rice and would give farmers much better profits.
Ancient techniques bring some of the best quality product available.
US prohibition was the only thing keeping them from having legal weed, now that is all but over.
Hopefully future Chinese domination will not change this. I wouldn't be surprised if China entered the market too.

Here is the article flamingofarmer posted on another thread.

                    This article is awesome:

The foreign demand for marijuana produced a boom in Thailand's poorest region during the 1970s and 80s. North of Udorn on the banks of the Mekong sits Isan, a plateau as large as many American states (62,000 square miles) that floods during monsoon season and is arid and dusty during the dry season. Although rice fields are hard to irrigate and do not yield much, marijuana thrives thanks to the Mekong River, whose tributaries replenish the region with rich, silty soil. Farmers in Northeast Thailand take the same care with their cannabis plants that French vintners take with their grapevines.....

                    https://thediplomat.com/2018/04/thai...ary-marijuana/

Thailand will be opening to Cannabis tourism in the near future. They cannot compete in the Tourist market if they do not move in this direction.
There is probably no where that can grow better pot than Thailand, the conditions are perfect and they don't have to use artificial lights.

Cannabis tourism in Thailand high time for medical marijuana-inspired travel
                    • Officials hope to launch medical marijuana tourism in the Southeast Asian nation to attract quality visitors
                    • Estimates suggest the nascent industry could bring in as much as US$687 million by 2024

Thailand actually is planning to become the world's number one supplier of Marijuana.
They can grow it at a fraction of the price it costs in Canada to grow.

It should be in the mini bar!
A Thai stick and a Singha.

Thailand Marijuana Legalization as of 2020
                          https://mjobserver.com/asia/thailand...s-of-2020/amp/

                          Quoted from article...
                          "
At the time of writing, recreational use is still illegal in Thailand, with no clear indication of its reconsideration by the authorities. But if we’re looking to the world, legal recreational use in Thailand isn’t the matter of “if,” but “when.” "

Won't it be nice to go to 7-11 pickup beer at "4-20", if you know what i mean!🥴

Its been said before but, because of these revisions to the laws on MJ there could be a blossoming industry that can slow the nosedive of the Thai economy. Maybe exports can start to take the place of tourism traffic?

As long as the protests go on, there won't be any new legislation passed any time soon.

Marijuana legislation would primarily be for the benefits of tourists.

Personal ganja use is not really illegal for Thai nationals in reality from what i have seen. Traditionally marijuana is grown and used for many purposes in Thailand has not stopped. They do not export it like they used to but they have never stopped the cultivation. It is grown and smoked in the country side in full public view. The same thing goes in Cambodia.
At many entertainment and bar areas like in Buriram there seems to be a contingent of potheads hanging around outside. Some places even bars openly sell and allow pot smoking.

Busting foreigners for pot use is more of a fund raiser and a sign they are tough on drugs.
The USA and others are really responsible for the war on pot, due to previous intolerance for any drugs.
This also makes it opportunistic for pot dealers as they can charge unsuspecting falangs in tourist areas high prices for shitty ditch weed.

Burriram makes sense as that's where the weed festival was. That is worth the trip in the next venture, whenever that's on .
