Phuket - is it a poor third?

Looking at the ATS archives (as you do) I noted that the LBs from Phuket seem to come a poor third in the glamour stakes to the Bangkok and Pattaya girls. I appreciate tastes differ but as a general rule the ones on the site seem a lot less polished.

Now I have not been to Pattaya for about ten years and at the time was a strictly GG man   but I do recall some real stunners in a couple of cabarets that my friend at the time and I visited.

So, out of interest are they still around or is shemale island now a misnomer for this part of the world.

The only reason for asking this is that I am off sick with some horrible bug and am bored shitless so having got square eyes watching vids have decided to start a topic.

It's mainly a question of numbers Harley....there are plenty of ladyboys in Phuket but nowhere near as many as can be found in Bkk and Pattaya so overall the quality is not the same.

The only problem I ever have in Bkk is making my mind up as to which beauty I'm going to choose....very difficult to keep your cool and wait to make the right choice when there are upwards of twenty stunners smiling at you and eyeing you up in Cascades or Obsession.

I was in Cocktails & Dreams in Patong recently and I have to admit I certainly didn't have anywhere near the same problem....there was really only one girl in the place that was my type.

Then you've got Soi Crocodile, Tequila Bar etc. I don't know about you Harley but I spend most of my time with GGs and if you frequent this place you might as well hang a sign on your back saying "I'm a ladyboy lover and make no mistake about it"....there are some very hot ladyboys in there but it's completely overlooked by regular GG beer bars and the walk up Bangla Road with a ladyboy on your arm isn't for the faint hearted....I know because I've done it on a few occasions.

Of course if you're feeling really brave there are also ladyboys on the beach road...watch your wallet !

It would be interesting if C&D was able to attract the best looking ladyboys in Phuket....it's in a good location on a side street off Bangla Road and there's a short time hotel right across the street.  

I just find Patong a little claustrophobic once you've been there a couple of times...it's like a small town and you don't get with much if you're trying to keep a few ladies on the go at the same time.

Nothing I have ever heard or read about Phuket inspires me to go. From when you land the rip offs begin and if you are going to get some ladyboy loving then you are better off going to Pattaya where it's cheap, you won't get ripped off so much and the quality and quantity is stupendously big!

I'd rather go to Africa than waste my money checking out the thieves and gypsies that live in Phuket.

I spent the best part of my first 10 trips to Thailand in Phuket and I have to say it is not more a rip off than BKK when it comes to most things.

You can find cheap everything in Phuket if you know where to look. The biggest rip off is the car from the airport for 550 baht but you can share a bus or metered taxi if you want with someone else to cut down the cost. There are cheap hotels around the 1000 baht a night and if the girls do not peg you as a newbie then you will get reasonable rates.

Fair enough... but on balance Pattaya is closer, cheaper and more 'guest-friendly' than Phuket (at least that's the general impression I get from most posters, websites and people I talk to.)

True to some extent because remember Phuket is not just a desintation for sex tourists like Pattaya so you actually get families and people who are not there just for some sexual gratification.

If you are budget conscious then Pattaya wins hands down but Phuket should not costs you anymore than the equivalent stay in BKK.

I will be first to admit i am a Phuket fan and biased

But i simply put this forward...


If you want to just go for sex, stick to Pattaya

If you want sex and a good holiday destination with lots of other things to do, go to Phuket


In my mind, its really that simple.
Phuket has more than enough girls and Lb to choose from.

Dont listen to SB either, all hotels are guest friendly in Phuket, its just some of them try and get a joiner fee from you. Happens in BKK also.

Just find out if they are joiner fees- email cost very little.

Stogie, get Ozzi to take you down there, (he knows EVERYONE there!!! It's nothing like you imagine. Even if you are a "cheap Charlie" and I am, you can have a fine old time in Phuket/Patong and environs. I've spent a fair bit of time there and enjoyed almost all of it. As I said in the previous post on the same topic; "Pattaya it is not!". At least you can swim at ALL the beaches.

   Harley, you never mentioned beaches.... if you want to do more on your vacation than just fuck ladyboys, Phuket is the place to be. It's gorgeous there, a great place to ride motorcycles up the west coast at sunset after a nice day on the beach at Kamala or Bang Tao or even up to Nai Thon; I have found some places up there which make Gilligan's Island seem crowded.

         So, if you want to just screw, stick with Pattaya.... if you want to make the most of your day and early evening go to Phuket, which also has good nightlife and plenty of cute ladyboys to hang out with.  For myself the choice is obvious,  Phuket wins by a landslide.

 Little-known fact; this website was started with Phuket girls only, 30 of them taken in January of 2000.

I like Phuket but only for short stays (4-5 days) and yes so far as the LB enthusiast is concerned, it is a distant third behind the big two.

I actually spent one night with Areeya at the Baan Lamai in 2005 even though we are just friends and have been since 2001 now..... we were chatting on Bangla and it was more like "hey, wanna come back to my room and chat for a while" and she ended up staying over, not much action however as I am basically pretty boring in bed these days, just can't be bothered with all the work really.

Great ladyboy, opinions vary over the years up on this forum but I don't have a bad thing to say about her, she is smart and sexy and also very nice to me, how she acts with others is not something I worry about. Dont forget the Tiger complex of bars in Phuket. They have a fair sprinkling of LB's mixed in amongst the regular girls as well, some are real lookers. I've never been to Pattaya so cant comment, but Bangkok clearly has a good selection. perhaps this is just a case of more choice, but not neccessarily better choice if you get what I mean.

I think as an overall holiday destination, Phuket must have it. Beaches, bars, ample nightlife and nice hotels. If you just want to monger, then maybe its better to look at Bangkok or Pattaya, at the end of the day its 'ub 2 u' what you want out of your time there

As I said in another thread a while back:

Girls, boozing and partying = Pattaya

Girls, boozing, partying, holiday(and all that goes with it), relaxation, beach, sun, surf etc = Phuket.

I didnt really find much price variance between the 3. Though girls definetely cheaper in Pattaya.

Sadly we dont get as many good reports on the LB scene on Phuket like we did. looks like Pattaya has overtaken Phuket in this area. When I first started to read here years ago there was only a few LB venues in Pattaya. There there seem to be quite a handful of quality Lb venues now. Even Billy69 observed a couople of trips ago that he had never seen as much LBs in pattaya before. So sperhaps they are all flocking there.

But as stated above Phuket and pattaya are way different. And if you just want girls then yes stick to pattaya.

It also amazes me how much mainstream tourisim there is in Pattaya. What is the attraction for families and mr and mrs average? I mean as a couple you can get some real fantastic deals to phuket. Some places advertise you can stay for virtually nothing if you are a couple and all you need to do is only attend their information seminar(read time share sell)

I think for Stoogie a Phuket destination  would only be as an alternative to a Hua Hin trip. Bring your own girl and try something different.
