You can't expect bar owners (or any employers) to be responsible for the behaviour of their staff outside the work place surely?
I agree. If it's not on site then why would he care.

Also - Why was anyone slapped? I'll bet there was something that provoked it.
So if I take a ladyboy from a bar then the moment I walk out the door the girl is no longer the responsibility of the bar?

      • Oh cummon Stogie- since when did a woman or a Ladyboy ever need a reason to slap someone- or behave irrationally in any other way.

Isn´t that why we chose a bar with id´s of the girls rather than pick a beachroad walker?

Exactly. At least that's my take on it...

Now - if she stole something from you and you reported it then I'd be interested because that would affect my business. But if you had a fight with her in another bar at 4 in the morning? Who gives a fuck.

Rick... you cheated on a hooker? Fuck me - you should have been hung!

If you call a girl over to talk they are are onto you within seconds telling you, not asking you to buy that lady a drink and when you say sorry I will when I am good and ready you get the biggest scowl and snarl. I also believe there is some sort of drink quota system which is why they are so aggressive?

Bob certainly has some talent in that bar but since I could probably get anyone one of their phone numbers without having to suffer through those annoying service girls and they useless mamasan why would I want to go in there?

                Hi Ozzie

I never have any problems there. They already know that I am a total cheap charlie, so they have completely given up on me. Maybe you should try the Cheap Charlie approach!

I think you might be on to something with the phone numbers deal. I suppose that would avoid paying the bar fine. But that poses a bit of a dilemma. If the girl later abused you or stole from you, could you expect to complain to the bar owner?  Just a thought!

My reasoning not to go into the bar is not to avoid the bar fine but rather avoid the shitty service girls. I don't have a problem paying for a bar if I call a girl out of her bar as I know she will have to pay it on her return.

                  • I talked to an LB I know from Stringfellows and since details have been scarce on this thread I asked her if she was present when this all went down.
She said that she was and that the guy (rick) had taken his barfine from Stringfellows (he hasn't named her so I won't either) over to meet some new LB he liked, thus making the Stringfellow LB feel disrespected and she reacted.

No doubt Rick thought it was all in fun but it wasn't taken that way and the inevitable happened. Lesson learned.

I don't see how Bob has anything to do with this.

                      So you believe said ladyboy?

Anyway maybe the slapping had nothing to do with Bob but he should have at least listened to what sort of complaint his customer had before waving him off like he did.

Well I think she told me what she saw. The incident had nothing do with her and the LB doing the slapping was no friend of hers (I know from earlier talks) so she would not be standing up for her out of loyalty to a friend.

I'd say that now that we're in the world of internet forums and search engines that archive things forever that all business owners should realize that bad reports last a long time (maybe even forever) so whereas in the past a business owner could say "so what I lost one customer" nowdays a disgruntled customer can leave a note that will damage his business for a long time.

Correct. At least that would be my broad approach if I was the bar owner (owner, not manager).

On the premises, different matter I agree. But there are 1000 things that can happen outside the bar that can cause the girl and the customer to get pissed off at each other. Totally impossible for a bar owner to try to figure out what went wrong, and take sides or take responsibility.

Ask any BM on this forum - is their employer responsible for their actions when not on company business?

Hehe, you believe that? I was sitting down with 3 friends when i spotted 10 Stringfellow lb´s at a table, went over to say hello since i know pretty much everyone *and had barfined 4 of them earlier that evening,
went back to my friends then "slapper" came over and had a go at me

Inevitable happened? Is this what we should accept?
                                You must be joking.

Lesson learned? Yes, to never again spend baht on "slapper".

                                Good job, john
