    (pacman @ Sep. 12 2008,12:12)
(rossco @ Sep. 11 2008,16:39) Previous comments about higher drink prices still stand though - 140 for San Miguel Light. Stringfellows, EZY, La Bamba, Naklua, Jomtien - all under 100. LD's normally 120.

It is not judged on drink price alone but the general attitude that prevailed in the past. I prefer to go to a bar sit down have a drink and take a look around. I really do not enjoy getting 'mobbed' immediately upon entering.

Pacman - as you are in LOS perhaps you can escort me and give me the guided tour?
Just a comment on the drink prices -

last night I went for a drink at the Sheraton here in Bangkok. My colleague drinks there every night when in town & he likes Mojitos at about 600 baht each.

Looking at the beer list I saw Heineken on tap for 250 baht, Singha, Tiger, etc were 250, plus Stella, Corona, etc were 350.
I ordered a beer & made my excuse to leave after one.
I am not cheap, it just was a waste of time sitting there so close to Nana with none of the advantages.

I paid with 300 baht, thinking to leave 50 tip. Wrong, with service & taxes it came to 294 baht.

Remember there were no girls in bikinis, no girls at all except for a few older opportunists.
No spa, no dancers, only a guy playing music.

My friend thought it was a great place as the night before he had taken one of the older girls to his room for only 100 Euros.

I don't say the Kitten Club is equal to the Sheraton, I mention it to put prices in perspective. Not everyone visiting Thailand wants to get loaded every night as cheaply as possible.

    Please write your complaints below...

    No complaints from me Pacman

Just want to let you know that all staff at La Bamba have received a memo with the new prices to charge Mr. Pacman. We all consider La Bamba the Sheraton of Pattaya...

A thought has crossed my mind.

Kitten Club - Obsessions - whatever....

The owner posts NOTHING - zero. One minute open the next closed. Premium prices but no info...

I guess if you are rich enough to have a hobby, then good luck to you, but then do not expect patronage.

Until the place establishes itself, one way or another, and improves its customer appeal then people will ignore it as a LB venue.

Who owns it? Who runs it? Who posts about it? It had Nicky and Mo dancing which should have made it numero Uno BUT............

I think maybe pacman and franck bought it together.

Back in Pattaya after a few days in Bangkok, I went back to the Kitten Club tonight.

I just wanted to re-assure myself that my experience last week wasn't an aberration, that all the positive things I had the audacity to mention hadn't mysteriously disappeared in my absence.

Gents, let me assure you that it was an excellent experience, there was a top line-up of talent, both GG & LB & not one, repeat NOT ONE ever asked me for a drink.

Finally I asked Tukdah, the beautiful newcomer I mentioned last week, if she would like a drink.

The gorgeous Bee was dancing & smiling at me & again I wondered how she could ever be left alone.

An American guy asked my name & quickly told me this was the best bar in Thailand.

I found it hard to disagree with him & with Tuk sitting next to me at the Renaissance, I am rattling this off before taking her upstairs.

Criticise the Kitten Club all you like but for those who may be interested, please try it for yourself.

If there was anyway I thought the place to be a rip-off or a dump, then I just wouldn't waste a moment in supporting it.

All of you who are getting excited at the thought of a bikini party at La Bamba should keep in mind that it is bikini night every night at the Kitten Club.
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.

It has been a while since I was in the Penthouse Hotel.  At that time it was owned by the same person who owns the Penthouse hotel, who was talking about making the GoGo bar under the hotel ( which I think was called the Kitten Club or Kittens ) into a ladyboy GoGo.

Firstly thanks to Pacman to host a trip to Kitten Club/Obsessions/Penthouse hotel.

Fortunately he was armed with a 2 for 1 drink voucher - interestingly enough that compensated for the price of drinks - nearly double.

The bar is well layed out and yes there are a number of GG's and LB's in attendance. There are bar menus showing prices BUT, in my opinion, the prices are out of line with comparable bars in Pattaya. If you charge double the price are the staff doubly attractive/attentive - no.

The bar has a number of dancing platforms, pool table and Spa bath. Very well presented.

We arrived and there were 3 other customers - about par for Pattaya at the present time!

I cannot rave about the bar BUT if you do not mind paying extra for your drinks it is worth a visit BUT only that ' a visit'.

I as surprised at the number of signs everywhere re offers/prices/options - OTT.

I was also surprised to see a BF as a menu item - not something most bars do as it attracts attention of the authorities.

So, as they say here in LOS, 'Up to You'.

This is not about the price of a beer/drink but whether a venue offers that much more to warrant a 30 to 50% increase in prices over comparable alternative venues. Certainly it has not changed significantly since my previous visits over the last 18 months.

I would not have expected anything less from our man Pacman.

Never been there myself as hardly ever get into Pattaya these days.

I paid a visit to Kitten Club last weekend.

Standard drinks for customers and staff are about 150 baht each. For that you get see a few dancers and some naked "performers" in a paddling pool full of foam. Actually, that's not quite right, the expensive drinks are just part of the entertainment cost. They have other members of staff wandering round with buckets that they expect you to throw some cash in. This is just like one of the upstairs bars in Patpong.

The mamasan tried to rip me off. I bought a girl a drink and she asked if I would buy the mamasan a drink. I said no, but the drink arrived anyway. I said no again, but the drink remained on my tab. When it came to paying up, the mamasan removed the bill for her drink but insisted the total was right even though there had been no deduction. She knew perfectly well what she was up to. A little more forceful persuasion and she backed down, but beware this is definitely a rip off bar. I take back most of what I said about Guess in Bangkok. This is definitely the worst LB bar I've been to.

I consider myself fortunate to be included as Pacman's guest last night at Kittens, thanks again Pacman.

Rossco pretty much covered all the points I would have made about this venue.

My opinion about this gogo/bar, from the viewpoint of a bar owner, is that I was always on guard while in the place. Also, very important, I didn't see any interaction between customers like I always do at other venues. That is a very important thing to be missing. Usually when at a bar, one never knows who else he would meet and talk to, BMs or not. Conversation between customers who have never met doesn't happen here. Perhaps its the layout of the place, I don't know.

The high prices of drinks is a very simple matter, glancing at a checkbin, or pricelist, and seeing the prices
one can continue to drink or resolve to cut the visit short and leave.

The talent on view is diverse and easy on the eye, a definite plus for Kittens. The fact that GGs and LBs are mixed gave me the opportunity to guess which one they were even thaugh they are all wearing color coded uniforms.

Would I visit again? I guess its up to Pacman. By myself I wouldn't seek out and visit the place alone.

My impression is that this bar is aimed at people on expenses who don't know Pattaya very well.

The few people smiling are those who are selling something and the only others are people who have just left!

The owners are clearly disinterested in making this place likable and it seems to serve as a clip joint for idiots.

Fortunately for the bar owners this model for business is acceptable and workable in Pattaya but what is clear is that any regular visitor or expat living here would never ever dream of setting foot in this bar.

Think of Patpong with the lights on! If you relax even for an instant there's a thieving gypsy ready to take advantage of you.

I wouldn't go back again even armed with a so called 'half price' drinks coupon. This cynical ploy to entice people in gives you a measure of the underhandedness and shameful business ethics of the people responsible for this gaudy craphole.

Still, it's been open for a while now and obviously there are clowns who visit Pattaya and don't seem to mind being abused in this way. One man's meat... blah de blah...
                        I'm really Sexist...

I appreciate the comments thanks guys.

As I stated this isn't the place for everyone & if your sole aim is to get pissed as cheaply as possible, then happy hour at a beer bar will save you a lot of money.

I started the thread to inform those coming to Pattaya, perhaps for the first time, that as well as our favourite places, there is another venue that offers a different experience.

No way would I suggest that someone would want to be there every night, but to refuse to step inside based on a few negative comments, isn't logical.

I have now been there 3 times & had a different experience each time.
Last night it may have been the company.....
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.

                              Well fuck me......

One man's cynical ploy is another man's clever marketing.

There is nothing "so called" about the "half price" drinks vouchers, I was given several by the very obliging manager when I said I wanted to bring some friends to visit.

As I am on an extended trip, all economies are appreciated. As it transpired, we only had one drink there last night, but so not to ruin my reputation, I wish to assure Mardhi that I am keeping them for a future visit.

As for the comment regarding underhandedness & shameful business ethics, may I remind everyone that this is the same management that went way beyond their area of concern to ensure I had my money returned to me after the unfortunate incident in February.
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.
